VIDEO: Brandon Bass On Helping Young Players, Lakers-Celtics Rivalry

The Los Angeles Lakers believe they have their power forward of the future in Julius Randle, but since he’s basically a rookie, however, the Lakers felt they needed to solidify the position. They did so in bringing in 10-year veteran, Brandon Bass.

After being introduced by the team on Wednesday, Bass sat down on Time Warner Cable SportsNet to talk about helping mentor the Lakers young players as well as his experience with the Lakers-Celtics rivalry.

Bass believes that he can help the young players with the everyday things needed to survive in the NBA. He spoke about things such as keeping the body right, nutrition, and proper workout and practice habits that he can provide to the young Lakers.

Spending the last four seasons with the Boston Celtics also has given Bass an inside look at the NBA’s premier rivalry. Bass said that coaches would downplay it, especially in recent years, but he could tell with how players like Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett prepared that it was a special game.

I really like his attitude and personality, great pick up!

  • There are not too many PF that can push him around, but he has only been getting 4 RB a game we are going to need a few more, we will have the guys to do a good job on the boards.

      1. True he was either playing SF or a stretch 4 hardly under the rim, depending on the match up guys may use their height as an advantage but he can hold his own, to say hell get pushed around is a stretch. Another positive, his height and weight is legit.

  • That poll question on Byron Scott’s future being on the hot seat is bullcrap. Shame on you LakersNation and anybody who said yes to that. He has shown promise on developing young players – look at JC and Tarik Black. He would no doubt craft these young guys into a cohesive unit. IN BYRON WE TRUST!!!

  • i would consider that LA Lakers sign Austin Daye both landry fields or sign both glen davis both dorrell wright to LA Lakers because less money and needed Sf both C and waive sacre now and kobe go to second line up bench back up

  • He’s ready to play. These new additions will teach our young guys and make them compete with vets.
