Over the weekend, Bryant spent time watching the Confederations Cup between Brazil and Italy, his hometown. D’Antoni was once a star for Milan, and Kobe grew up idolizing him. According to Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak, at least for now, D’Antoni is here to stay.

While in Brazil, Kobe was also able to spend time with Hall of Famer Oscar Schmidt, who is recovering from brain surgery. In an interview with a television station, Bryant said the he could easily see himself playing another three or four years. If Kobe makes a quick side trip to Germany to keep those knees fresh, I wouldn’t doubt it.
