Phil Jackson Tweets Picture Of His 13 NBA Championship Rings

Phil Jackson on Twitter has pretty much been the best thing to happen to Twitter since…Twitter? Anyways, Jackson has had a good time doing things like hitting on Jeanie Buss, tweeting typos and making fun of Pau Gasol’s practice habits.

Now, the so-called Zen Master is at it again. And by at it again I mean he’s tweeting pictures of his 13 championship rings. Yes. Thirteen.

That’s a lot of jewelry.

Jackson’s book, Eleven Rings, will be out next week. I guess the title Thirteen Rings just didn’t have a good enough ring to it. Pun. Or that whole unlucky 13 thing scared away some publishers.

philjacksontweetAnyways, Jackson’s ring picture is pretty tremendous. Here’s a list of the seasons (and teams) he won each ring with. Asterisks indicate rings won as a player.

  1. New York Knicks; 1970*
  2. New York Knicks; 1973*
  3. Chicago Bulls; 1991
  4. Chicago Bulls; 1992
  5. Chicago Bulls; 1993
  6. Chicago Bulls; 1996
  7. Chicago Bulls; 1997
  8. Chicago Bulls; 1998
  9. Los Angeles Lakers; 2000
  10. Los Angeles Lakers; 2001
  11. Los Angeles Lakers’ 2002
  12. Los Angeles Lakers; 2009
  13. Los Angeles Lakers; 2010

And now my fingers are tired from typing all that.

Anyways, it’s kind of crazy to see this picture and know that each ring represents a championship that Jackson was part of. I guess Phil’s been kind of successful over his career.
