NBA News: Oklahoma City Thunder Clinch Number One Seed

NBA: Oklahoma City Thunder at Portland Trail BlazersWith their victory over the Sacramento Kings last night, Kevin Durant and company clinched the number one seed in the Western Conference.

In three of the past four seasons the Thunder have won at least 50 games and have advanced further in the playoffs in each of those seasons.

While the Thunder were in second place for most of the season, they’ve won 10 of their last 12 games to overtake San Antonio for the number one seed.

Most importantly for the Lakers, if they are to win tomorrow they avoid the Thunder and get to play the Spurs. However, if both the Lakers and Jazz lose tomorrow night, the Lakers will take on the Thunder in the first round.

This season, the Thunder beat the Lakers all four times this year by an average of 11.8 points.
