The Los Angeles Clippers were a disappointment in the playoffs as they lost four consecutive games to the Memphis Grizzlies, which cost Vinny Del Negro his job.

Recently, Indiana Pacers assistant Brian Shaw and ESPN analyst Jeff Van Gundy have been reported as Clippers Vice President of Basketball Operations Gary Sacks’ top-two choices, and it sounds like Shaw is enamored with the idea of coming back to Los Angeles.

Shaw was an assistant coach under former Lakers head coach Phil Jackson, and with a roster that includes Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, if he re-signs, the Clippers would have one of the brightest young NBA minds leading their team.

However, with the Memphis Grizzlies allowing Lionel Hollins to talk to other NBA teams, Clippers owner Donald Sterling reportedly met with him during the Western Conference Finals.

Regardless, it sounds like Shaw is closer to getting his first NBA head coaching gig as he’s been linked to the Brooklyn Nets, Detroit Pistons and Philadelphia 76ers before the Clippers job opened up.
