Metta World Peace Has Lateral Meniscus Tear in Left Knee

Metta World Peace suffered a knee injury during Monday night’s game against the Golden State Warriors. His injury was initially diagnosed as a knee strain, but was upgraded today after World Peace underwent an MRI. The Lakers tweeted:

It is unknown if MWP will need surgery to repair the damage as well. World Peace is averaging 12.8 points and 5.1 rebounds on 40.5 percent shooting from the field this season. The Lakers will most likely start either Earl Clark or Jodie Meeks tomorrow against the Timberwolves.
