Lakers Rumors & News Recap: Odom, Ebanks In? Gasol Out?

The recent rumors circulating this Lakers team are hotter than high school lunch chatter the day after prom!

Remember back when Ebanks was upset that he may not be getting the respect and playing time he deserved with the Lakers? Sources are now saying that Ebanks was excited after his meetings with Mike Brown and Mitch Kupchak. As of July 1, Ebanks may become a free agent for the first time in his NBA career. But we may see more of him next year. The Lakers player was stated as saying:

“I’d definitely love to stay here in L.A. and continue my career here.”

In terms of Pau Gasol, who has a career low of 17.4 ppg this season, the future appears to be away from LA. Before the NBA trade deadline in March, rumors had circulated about Gasol’s possible trade to the Bulls. Come the deadline, he remained on the team, but the possibility of a Bull’s season is still imminent. If Gasol left, could that open a spot back for Odom? The Mavericks want nothing to do with him, and plan to buy him out in the next month. According to ESPN Radio, the want for a return to L.A. is mutual:

“(Odom) desperately wants to come back and wants to play for the Los Angeles Lakers. Mike Brown desperately wants him back. He’s going to talk to Buss and Lakers hierarchy to see what they can do about getting Lamar Odom back.”

The rumor mill is getting exciting. I bet you are all as excited/nervous/giddy as I am to see where this Lakers team is headed and hopefully there are some answers soon.
