Lakers News: Steve Nash Discusses Dwight Howard Departure To Rockets

dwight-howard-steve-nash-lakersDwight Howard’s departure to Houston has drawn the ire of Laker legends and current Laker teammates as Steve Nash was the latest current Laker to chime in on his decision.

Nash was acquired last off-season in conjunction with Howard as the Lakers believed that they assembled the next super-team that would take the NBA by storm.

However, Nash commented on how the meeting with Howard went and what he thought about the situation on the Mason and Ireland show on ESPN Radio 710:

“Frankly before the meeting, we didn’t really have a chance-After the meeting, we had a chance. Ultimately, I think Dwight wasn’t comfortable here, didn’t want to be here. We wish him the best and move on.”

Nash and Howard both battled injuries and missed significant portions of the season which contributed to the Lakers sneaking into the playoffs and being swept by the Spurs.

In the meeting with Howard, Nash and Kobe Bryant reportedly spoke directly to him about the end of the season and how they were excited about building off the momentum they had.

Regardless, Nash was very honest about how everything went down and went so far as to say the Lakers are in rebuilding mode after having such high championship aspirations prior to the season.
