Lakers News, Rumors, and Recap: What to Expect in the Coming Week

The Lakers successfully won the first two games of the playoffs in Round 1 with a solid showing from the starting line up and the bench. Even without Metta World Peace, we have come out super strong.

According to Daniel Buerge here at Lakers Nation, there rests the question as to whether or not the team will need World Peace in the second round. Remember, his suspension is for seven games, not for a round of the playoffs. This means, if the Lakers win in four, World Peace would still be sitting out games in the second round, against even stronger opponents. Losing the next two games against a weaker Nuggets team to ultimately win the series in six is better than falling behind 0-1 or 0-2 in the next round.

My opinion? Daniel seems to be onto something. I have love for the Nuggets because of my former Bruin co-star playing, Arron Afflalo, but my Lakers love runs even deeper. And I have to say, the Nuggets have under-whelmed me these past two games.

For those of you wondering what World Peace has to say about his future in these playoff games, he will be appearing on the Conan O’Brien Show this coming Monday. It will be his first interview after his suspension for elbowing James Harden of the Thunder.

The Lakers continue on to play Denver this Friday. I would love to see a seven-game playoff series, but I honestly think it will end in five with the Lakers losing one on the road.

After these past two games, what is your prediction?
