Lakers News: Kobe Bryant To Get Walking Boot Off Foot Today

NBA: Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles LakersKobe Bryant’s recovery from a torn Achilles will be the biggest story to follow this summer and it sounds like Bryant is excelling in his rehab. Bryant has posted Instagram pictures doing calf raises and even admitted that he’s able to be on his feet, something most didn’t expect for quite some time.

This morning, Bryant tweeted that his recovery was taking the next step and that he was going to be wearing a special kind of shoe:

While nobody knows what a “medical mamba” shoe is, it sounds like Bryant’s recovery is on-schedule and he might be ahead of schedule. So much of the Lakers success will be predicated on his recovery as the team hopes that free agent center Dwight Howard joins Bryant next season.

For many an Achilles injury would be mentally and physically too much, but it sounds like Bryant is determined to prove his critics wrong. While he isn’t close to resuming any basketball activities, it sounds like Bryant is ramping up his rehab and there’s no doubt he’ll be ready to return on opening night.
