Lakers News: J.j. Watt Takes Shots At Lonzo Ball, Big Baller Brand With New Shoe

Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball and his father, LaVar, started their own brand called Big Baller Brand, selling all kind of merchandise and Ball’s new signature shoe, the ZO2s.

They have been under a lot of scrutiny in recent months for the price of the shoe, as it is currently priced at $495, while the ZO2 WET edition retails for $995 and the ZO2 signature slide is going for $220.

Those prices are well above all the other signature shoes out there, but LaVar does mind that as he said that the ZO2s are for “big ballers only.”

One NFL player recently took a shot at Ball and the Big Baller Brand, as Houston Texans star defensive end J.J. Watt just released his new Reebok training shoe, which he mentions is cheaper than other shoes on the market on Twitter:

Watt’s shoe is not a basketball shoe, so it is tough to compare it to Ball’s shoe as far as performance goes, even though Watt claims it is 100 percent more effective.

A lot of people have taken shots at Ball, mostly because of how outspoken LaVar is, but Ball has done an excellent job silencing all the critics during the Las Vegas Summer League for the Lakers, as he is leading the league in minutes and averaging 17.0 points, 8.3 rebounds and 9.8 assists per game, while recording two triple-doubles.
