The Lakers’ brass was so impressed with Farmar, they opted to pick up the fourth year of his rookie contract after his career year. (The extension was for the 2009-2010 season).
The 2008-2009 season was somewhat of a disappointment for Farmar, despite becoming a World Champion. His stats dropped across the board, as did his minutes. However, since the Lakers won the title, the struggles of Farmar and Sasha Vujacic were marginalized by fans. As always, things are always better when you’re winning.
It’s now 2010. It’s a contract year. But, Farmar continues to have his ups and downs. His name was even dangled in trade rumors.
Next: With Derek Fisher seeming to age by the minute, the question becomes:Should the Lakers extend Jordan Farmar?
