Gearing Up For Mavs-Heat Game 3 in Dallas

Sports Illustrated: “The passes were on target, the shots were falling and the defense made things tough on the other guys. The Dallas Mavericks played their best stretch of the NBA finals at the end of Game 2, pulling off a rally that reshaped the series. Now they have to try to keep it going.”

Marc Spears: Yahoo Sports: “That last one – like more than a few of Terry’s other errors – earned him an earful from Dirk Nowitzki. And yet Nowitzki also promised Terry he’d save him from further shame, then did so by driving for the winning lay-in – after Terry set Chris Bosh off-balance with a screen.”

Maurice Bobb: Slam Magazine: “The Mavs need his pesky dribble penetration and expert pick-and-roll play if they want to avoid digging the same kind of offensive hole they were in for the first 89 minutes of this series. Brendan Haywood remains questionable for Game 3, so Tyson Chandler will have to find a way to be aggressive while protecting the rim and not get into foul trouble if they want to capitalize on their home court.”

New York Times: “The passes were on target, the shots were falling and the defense made things tough on the other guys. The Dallas Mavericks played their best stretch of the NBA finals at the end of Game 2, pulling off a rally that reshaped the series.”

New York Times: “And entering Game 3 of the NBA finals, the Heat will try to let Game 2 go again. The way Miami sees it, carrying over the stigma of that loss — one of the worst late-game collapses in finals history — would only doom them again Sunday night when the scene shifts to steamy Dallas for the first of three games on the Mavericks’ home floor.”
