After finishing last season with a franchise worst 21-61 record, the Los Angeles Lakers are back to begin the 2015-16 NBA preseason in hopes of turning franchise around.

What will Kobe Bryant make this season? Find out here!

The Lakers made a lot of moves in the off-season, beginning with drafting D’Angelo Russell with the second overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. They also drafted Larry Nance Jr. and Anthony Brown with the 27th and 34th picks overall. In free agency, the team signed multiple players such as 10-year veteran Brandon Bass, reigning Sixth Man of the Year Lou Williams and veteran Metta World Peace, who last played for the Lakers in 2013. They also made a trade with the Indiana Pacers to bring two-time All-Star Roy Hibbert to Los Angeles to protect the paint, something the team struggled with mightily last season.

Lastly, the Lakers are finally healthy once again. That means Nick Young, Julius Randle, and of course, Kobe Bryant, now in his 20th season in the NBA, are all back and are looking to help this young Laker team contend in the Western Conference.

First Quarter:

The game began with Utah’s Gordon Hayward making one of two free throws followed by a Julius Randle dunk off D’Angelo Russell’s first assist. The Jazz made two consecutive baskets to give the Utah a 7-2 lead. Down five, Jordan Clarkson scored a layup then got a breakaway dunk off his first steal of the preseason. The Jazz then went on a 7-0 run to extend the lead to 14-6 halfway through the first quarter. Bryant got on the board making a free throw after the three-second violation on Utah, followed by a slashing layup by Russell. With the lead down to five again, Bryant hit a corner three to give the Lakers a 6-0 run and trim the lead to two. Hayward made a driving layup with four minutes left to give the Jazz a 16-12 lead. Lou Williams entered the game off the bench and hit a 27-foot three on his first shot taken with 1:30 remaining. The quarter ended with Trevor Booker making a driving layup off the Rodney Hood assist to give Utah a 18-16 at the end of one.

Second Quarter:

The second quarter began with back-to-back scores by Robert Sacre and Jabari Brown to give the Lakers their first lead of the game. Following three made free throws by Utah, Nick Young got on the board with a 15-foot jumper to regain the lead, 22-21. Brandon Bass added to that lead off a sweet pass by Wililams on an easy dunk, three minutes into the quarter. Utah’s Milsap and Hayward both made one free throw each to trim the lead to two with 6:39 remaining. Lou Williams showed why they call him “Sweet Lou” by making a crafty 15-footer plus drawing the foul. This was followed by Tarik Black making a nice turnaround hook shot off the Young assist to give the Lakers a 29-23 lead. With under five minutes left in the quarter, Bass scored on the and-one layup, but failed to convert the free throw. Utah would come back on a 6-0 run led by Hayward to cut the lead back to two with a score of 31-29. After Gobert made one of two free throws, Williams’ would come to the other end and convert on both of his free throws. Gobert would once again split his free throws again, that was followed by a Lou Wililams 16-foot jumper. The half ended on some excitement with Nick Young hitting a three with one second left in the quarter. After two quarters, the Lakers led 38-33.

Third Quarter:

The second half began with Young knocking down a jumper off the D’Angelo Russell assist. Following the jumper, Jordan Clarkson would go coast to coast to score an easy layup to give the Lakers a 42-33 lead. Nick Young would hit his second three of the night that was followed by a Clarkson layup plus the foul off Russell’s third assist to extend the lead to 13. The Jazz would go on an 9-0 run off buckets by Trey Burke, Derrick Favors, Gobert and Hayward to cut the lead to single digits. With under seven minutes to play in the third, the Jazz saw themselves only down by four. Julius Randle got back into the action knocking a pair of free throws to make it 50-44 lead for the Lakers. Following the free throws, Utah would once again go on another 6-0 run to tie the game at 50 even; In total, Utah went on a 15-2 run to re-tie the game. With the Lakers struggling to score, D’Angelo Russell would take matters into his own hands scoring on a 29-foot three pointer to regain the lead. Hibbert would score on the next possession after getting the offensive rebound on his own miss, putting the Lakers up 55-50. After Randle scored on an offensive putback, Raul Neto would strip the ball from Hibbert that led to an easy basket for Trevor Booker. Booker scored again on two free throws to cut the Lakers’ lead to one. The quarter ended with Randle making one of two free throws, 59-57 Lakers.

Fourth Quarter

Joe Ingles starts the fourth quarter off by putting the Jazz ahead of the Lakers with a three following two ugly and empty possessions by Los Angeles. Rodney Hood capitalized on a Lakers turnover by throwing down the jam and extending Utah’s lead to five. Hood headed to the line to connect on both free throws on the next possession. Lou Williams drew the foul, but missed the first and made the second. Lead was cut to six, 66-60. Jazz center Tibor Pleiss hit two free throws to give the Jazz an eight-point lead. Rookie Anthony Brown didn’t take long to make his presence known hitting a three in his first shot attempt. Elijah Millsap connected on a couple of free throws giving the Jazz a seven-point cushion. Ryan Kelly gets on the board with a nice drive to the basket. Unfortunately, Jazz countered immediately with Millsap scoring with ease in transition. Tarik Black entered the game for Robert Sacre. Williams blocked Trey Burke giving the Lakers possession with the Jazz up seven. Kelly got the basket on another drive, but only drew the foul with finishing. Kelly hit one out of two free throws. Jeff Withey got to the charity stripe to hit one out of two. Williams scored his 13th point on a smooth floater in the lane. Trey Lyles hit a five-footer. Williams headed to the line on the other end after drawing the foul. Connected one out of two. Lyles went for the monster, is blocked midway, but the ball falls in anyway. Jazz lead, 77-69. Withey got two more free throws to fall after drawing the foul. Millsap finished on an easy layup to push the lead to 12. Black drew the foul after battling in the paint. Missed the first and the second, but Kelly has the offensive rebound bounce his way and got the easy layup. Ingles hit a 23-footer. Withey was able to get to the line once again to hit both of his free-throw attempts. Sacre came back in the game after Brandon Bass committed another foul on Withey sending him to the line yet again. Withey hit the first and the second. Raul Neto reached the free-throw line and scores the last two points of the game. Lakers lose, 90-71.

Good job Tracy Murray!!

  1. Keep it real,

They can’t play defense, transition D was atrocious. Hibbert held his own defensively but literally it seemed like he was on his own at times. Randle stunk it up, there was more skilled bigs than him on the other side of the court. The starting rotation sucked, IMO I’d try JC6 (1) Lou (2),24 (3) Bass (4) and Hibbert @ center next game. best for Scott to experiment now as opposed to all season.

Russell had a decent showing, but doesn’t seem physically conditioned (yet) to handle a rigorous 82 game season with relation to his strength and conditioning. Lou impressed today, but it seems more obvious that he should play the 2.

      1. Jeremy Lin will never be anyone’s main PG unless he goes overseas to play for the Taiwanese National team. Stop dreaming lol.

      1. EVERYONE PLEASE FLAG:

        Brian AKA CLIPPED RUIN LA.

  • Byron needs to teach these guys how to play basketball. Enough with the getting guys in shape. They had no legs tonight

    1. You guys are idiots i wanted the win tonight as well but this is preseason an entirely new team with a rookie who has never played before, the jazz has been together for a while we have to grow , not to mentioned its players trying to make the team so u hav to let them get min, we had alot of great moments yesterday just b patient next game going to be way better, Byron Scott is a hell of coach and was very smart by resting the first unit to play it safe for 82 games in a season.

      1. first it does count and whoare you calling idiot idiot when your name suggests a closed mind now thats dumb!

  • Poor effort by most including kobe, only lou and jordan and anhony were the only one huslintg out THERE!

        1. The 1st game of REAL basketball against other teams.. the reason other teams look so good is because they’ve been together longer than our boys.. it’s going to take time.

          1. first of basketball every team is having there first are they making excuses like horrible bad perc. coach like byron no and you think the hawaii fans were happy they lost badly the first game thats a bad vibe to start on with no effort!

          2. Even literate people use profanity. But you wouldn’t know that considering you can’t even speak the f**king language!

          3. dude If I did not I would not use english words like now, go to grammer school and learn how to speak regular and not low-life english and profanity!

        2. When they played bad, they deserved to be criticized. No? I am new here but you sound like a troll.

        3. I totally agree, bro! Don’t these whiny kids realize that the preseason AND training camp has just begun, and the main players that needed to be tested out, WERE tested out last night? The ones who needed the chemistry and feel got the playing time. Next few preseason games, we will see the other players. I can’t blame Scott for sacrificing a win for chemistry and gel. And nobody talked about our half-court defense, which I thought was A LOT better than years past. We do need improvements in certain areas, but we did a great job, overall, last night.

          1. kids speaking of one that probably tweetters all day on a phone not paying attention what happens in the world now thats a kid! plus the perimeter d and transition were way horrible, our half courtwas horrible no blocksat all from our bigs, wake up and stop those drugs!

          2. First off, go back to the fourth grade and learn how to type in American English properly. I hate when people try to debate and insult someone’s intellect, yet can’t read above a first grade level. Secondly, I don’t CARE how many blocks ONE segment of a basketball team (big men only) gets. I care about the ENTIRE TEAM getting blocks, which we did..we had just as many blocks as Utah, and they didn’t shoot over 40% as a damn team the entire game. Last year, alone, everyone shot over 40%, sometimes even 50% on average, and here we make blocks, and cause a lot of 24 second violations, caused turnovers, had steals, and more, and your complaining about the first game of PRESEASON. Grab a teddy bear, put your thumb in your mouth, and go to sleep! This game would NOT have been close last year with those No-D’Antoni chumps!

          3. How immature of you to mention a baby thatshows how immatuyre you are andstop pretending it does no affect confidence sir!

      1. first I am not crying nitwit I am pointing out the problems the lakers were sleep walking and you ignore it!

    1. If you think Kobe played bad tonight, wait until the season starts. Last year Kobe’s play was just embarrassing.

  • The problem is Byron Scott. He is not a good coach in today’s nba. Doesn’t understand the concepts of ball movement and spacing

    1. “concepts” of ball movement and spacing are a player issue.

Byron can’t be on the court in 5 positions at the same time.

          1. lol. There was no accident that the Spurs summer league team won the tournament. They have a great system from top to bottom

          2. Have you forgotten that Pops has been the head coach of the Spurs since 1996?

            That’s nearly 20 years….

Pops is in the top-3 coaches EVER…. I would hope that his efforts, system, and influence would show on all levels in the organization.

          3. He is certainly top 10 of all times. He is in my top 5. How many coaches are better then Pop?

          4. Ok. Look at Steve Kerr. He transformed the Warriors into a title contender in year 1. Same with Budenholzer with the Hawks

          5. No he didn’t the warriors have been good the last 3 years they just made a big jump last year

      1. The Lakers looked disorganized. Utah looked a lot more organized. Last year the Lakers led the league in giving up break away baskets. No improvement! Office pick and roll strong side no clue weak side. Need new coaching.

      2. why always defend bscott? do you not see how poorly he coaches like honestly open your eyes.

        1. That’s on Scott, J Brown can’t handle pg duties th obest to know now as opposed to the regular season.

      1. A brown was pretty decent for the little time he got what’re you talking about lol

        1. That’s on Scott, J Brown can’t handle pg duties tho best to know now as opposed to the regular season.

  • Laker starters all played less than 21 minutes, jazz starters all played more than 21 minutes.

        1. Looks like one of them ‘well done’ meat meters (top right) that pop out when it’s cooked/well done LOl.

  • I blame this loss on Byron.
    Everyone was too tired
    On another note…
CLARKSON is gonna be BEAST my god.
RUSSELL showed his flashes I would’ve loved to see Upshaw but It’s all in Byrons hands

  • That was…disappointing. If the Lakers have any intention of making the playoffs, we can’t have this. These are the teams they need to beat in the regular season. I know it’s only preseason, but come the fuck on.

      1. Realistic or not, that’s THEIR goal. They aren’t going into the season aiming for 30 wins.

        1. Ok, I’m just having a little fun. I think the Lakers condition is just funny. I mean, Kobe was asking for all this you know.

        2. Nor should they. Expect mediocrity and you’ll be mediocre. Expect playoffs and you’ll play harder to reach that goal. I’m glad they’re talking playoffs and not being all wishy-washy “Well, If we make the playoffs/if everyone gets better I’ll consider it a good season.”

    1. We are not making the Playoff’s this year, So do yourself a favor and have realistic expectations. Last year we won 23 games, this year we will win 30 games.

      1. Let’s just hope the inept FO make a trade come trade deadline (for an impactful starter) b/c this will take time to which it won’t help in FA2016.

          1. Kobe has an entire hand missing rings. When he was younger he thought he’d get ten.

          2. Funny you say that fuckboy because the Clippers have, oh wait they don’t have any. Kobe > bitchass Clippers. and you the biggest fuckboy on the internet, I bet I could whoop yo ass

          3. RE: Kobe
Kobe’s other hand has more rings than the entire Clippers roster.

You talk crap, but it doesn’t make sense.

Step back from wanting to talk just to talk. Because we don’t want to read your nonsense. And most of us just skip your posts anyways.

  • byron stop putting randle in thestarting lineup, dangelo was non-existent, poor lineups, black, brown, sucre played horrible shot and dribble ball1

      1. It’s funny how there are some people that panic over nothing. I would hate to be next to them in a Zombie Apocalypse. Hahaha

        1. Actually, those are the people you want to be next to in the initial rush. When they freeze up and panick, they’re be gourged on while you make the escape. πŸ˜€

  • We got out healthy. So that’s all that matters to me… the offense will take time to gel with guys all over the place. The Russell pass to both Hibbert and Randle was astonishing, but both guys clogged up the lane…

My only real takeaway from the game (it’s preseason and nothing matters beyond health and making mistakes now to prevent later) was how DESPERATE we are in need of a true backup PG (Huertas). The offense needs a playmaker to allow Lou and Young to get to their spots and score.

    1. Let’s be lemmings…
      or chicken-little’s!

      After 1 Pre-season game, it’s over.
      Let’s start the tank now.

        1. If you think that this year will end anything close to the win total of last year….

you are obviously a troll and know nothing about player acquisition, player growth, or basketball.

          — i get it… you are one of the spoiled guys who sit on the bandwagon hoping the lakers win a championship so you can wear your $25 hat and say you are a fan.

          1. Oh, yea. Thought last season was bad? You ain’t seen nothing yet. I can’t wait to see all those bloopers by Kobe this year too. πŸ˜€

          2. You have an obsessive crush on Kobe. Only thing you ever seem to talk about

          3. He helped get a “great franchise” 5 rings….

How does he create and ruin at the same time?

  • why didn’t Huertas play? That would’ve made some form of a difference. I liked Kelly more than Black and Bass. Even Nance who didn’t play would’ve had a solid day today. Take away: Kobe looked old, but solid. Clarkson and D’Angelo experiment will work once it gels.

    1. Marcelo Huertas and Larry Nance Jr. were not available because of injuries. They are minor injuries so they will probably just miss 2 games. They should play in the last 6 games of pre-season.

  • Lakers should not waste no time and get scott brooks as a replacement for byron scott! Lakers lineup is not that bad, they only look and play bad because they have a losing coach! Sacre is your primary back center for Hibbert?! are you kidding me???? you have a very bright and full of potential undrafted center in Upshaw who by the way was projected as one of the lottery picks should he not expelled by his schools because of drugs, but scott is giving sacre more opportunity than black and upshaw who obviously are more capable than sacre!!! 16 year coaching career with just 4 playoff appearances, isnt that enought to dumb this losing coach?????

    1. Scott Brooks? Are you shitting me? You think that BS is supposedly limited in coaching wait till you see Brooks offensive schemes of give Clarkson the ball and just let him go out there and play, just like he did with Westbrook and Durant. Brooks was riding those two for years and because they are so good, they covered up Brooks massive inadequeacies as a coach.

  • We’re going to get blown out every night with that starting lineup. Clarkson can start, however. He’s been the most impressive so far.

        1. Clarkson is beast..BS didn’t give him enough minutes today
The duo with him and Russell needs to develop more to be able to assume this early
Both of them are combo guards no doubt

          1. both are combo guards that lean more to pg. clark missed so many open threes hes not a sg

          2. Hold up are you saying he’s not a sg cause he missed threes? what then Tony Allen not a sg cause he missed threes wtf.

          3. Still doesn’t change the fact he can’t shoot but Kobe wasn’t much of a shooter either mac to but they were scorers and that what jc is.

    1. like they did last season b4 they won the title and were #1 in the league?…. oh wait

  • Meh….
Not much to say… The starting unit played 20 minutes, and looked rusty.
The Backups looked like backups. And I am not sure that Scott had an intention to win. To me, it looked like he was more interested in experimentation and studying rotations than anything else.

Young and Williams played well, but that’s a hollow victory as BOTH are bench guys.

    Hibbert did well.

It’s interesting how MWP, Huertas, Nance, and Holmes didn’t play. But Kelly and Sacre got “showcase” minutes.

  • Here comes the “its just preseason” crowd. Its the Jazz. They should never lose to them by 20. Never ever. Wake up.

    1. you absolutely right. Preseason translates to the regular season on how the team is playing. Tonight’s game really has me worrying.

      1. I watched the Clippers preseason game the other night until I got too sick of that crap team and turned it off but they were in mid season form.

    2. You need to realize that “Preseason” means that a coach can experiment, let guys play, and not take the “winning” aspect serious.

I’ll start worrying about the Regular Season when it starts.

Until then, Preseason is about learning, adjusting and finding a team that can win games in the REGULAR season.

      — Spoiled Lakers fans think and want to win every game.

        1. Applause..
great witty comment…. and another great addition to the discussion by Brian.

          Thanks for your efforts.

          1. I guess you missed last season when they lost something like 61 games? Oh, take a look at Byron win/loss record. That’s your coach.

      1. I am not “spoiled”. I take offense to that. This is like the fourth year in a row I have heard the same excuses. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me four times? Never. This team will suck. Lets remember this convo come April. Deal?

        1. I’m a fan whether or not they win a championship.

You forget the 19 cities that haven’t won a championship and that losing seasons are part of being a fan (of that team).

          “It’s been 4 years…”
          – Maybe you should move to Milwaukee, Phoenix, or New Orleans and see what its like to an NBA NBA fan there….. spoiled.

          1. So am I. I’m not spoiled. I’m just stating the fact that they will suck this season and using “preseason” as an excuse to make yourselves feel better about the season isn’t going to cut it, just like it didn’t work out the last four years. That is my point NOT that I expect them to win a championship every year. That wasn’t even hinted at anywhere in my comments. Other teams at least show improvement and competency. Our starting five just might be the worst in the league. So yes let’s talk again in April since telling you the preseason indicates how the regular season will pan out= I’m spoiled and think they need to win a title. LOL at that reading comprehension.

          2. Agreed, I will not say championship compete though and get in playoffs, this is not the nba anymore where the lakers are a big deal and big stars want to come for most of the time like shaq for legacy and championship, even though it should, were inan nba were teams like thespurs plan and eecute ball movement not a college talk defene but not do defense like byron scott, seriously if we were doing the princeton, I would have mike brown back better at least he got us to playoffs and the 2nd round!

          3. I really don’t get why anytime someone says this team isn’t competing hard enough or that we’re disappointed in a loss they somehow think we mean they need to win a title. In fact saying another Lakers fan is “spoiled” is an insult to them as well. It’s what Lakers haters use to demean ALL Lakers fans. I also understand though that some Lakers fans think they are special and exempt from that title, like Daryl. It’s bizarre.

      2. Still doesn’t change the fact we lost bad we didn’t look like a team headed for the playoff s funny we played bad in the pre-season last year and went on to be even worst in the reg season.

  • Realistic or not, that’s THEIR goal.

    1. I agree. But I guess his cronies like him since he can give them a job. Worthy became an assistant, too. I saw this was coming. Who’s next? Shaq?

      1. Are you a lakers fan, or just a bandwagon guy who is upset that he can’t walk into his work tomorrow and brag like a douchebag?

  • The starters shot 10 for 41, i.e. 24%. Isn’t that pretty poor even by preseason standards? Can’t see anything positive about this team yet. Still early though.

    1. It’s game 1…
And the entire team we built in 3 months.

Do you expect Chemistry to magically appear?
Do you expect guys to magically know how to play in a new offensive system?
      Do you expect miracles?

      1. Hey, let’s not get too defensive man. LOL. I just said what I saw. That’s all. I am a fan and I do hope they do well. Cool it man.

          1. The Jazz had like 5 white dudes out there and they still beat us lol not being racist, just saying, this is basketball. No need to panic yet, if Sacre is still on the roster come opening night then yeah.. Probably time to panic.

  • Jabari Brown and Sacre can get the boot. Kelly too, but he was decent considering BS is still playing him at the 3.

    1. I like Jabari as a spot up shooter and he has improved at attacking the basket. I just think Scott made the mistake of playing him at point and he got exposed by getting the ball turned over. I like him as our 3rd SG off the bench, but I think Sacre and Kelly got to go. Kelly played well, but don’t think he should be here again

  • wake up lakersfans saying its only one game, we need to send a message and the message we sent was hey you can beat up on us and we cant fight back seriously horrible play by most except kelly, clarkson,a brown, lou. nick

  • Honestly, I hope this is a reality check to the daydreamers who think that the playoffs are within grasp. This is year one of the rebuild, the Jazz themselves are in year 4 and they are still not even a lock for a playoff spot. There is not going to be any magic fixes here, it’s going to take years for them to develop the way Haywood, Favors, Burks and Burke have for the past few seasons.
Very disappointing seeing Sacre and Kelly getting minutes over guys who want to prove themselves rather than guys who have proven nothing at all.

  • IF THEY LOSE THE NEXT GAME, HIT THAT PANIC BUTTON LIKE MIKE TYSON WOULD HIT A MUTHA FUCKA IN THE RING.

  • I know its just a pre-season game but if the lakers keep playing like they did tonight its going to be a long season πŸ™

      1. I’m going to find this season quite entertaining actually. Nothing like watching Kobe fall on his bum every game and blame his teammates. LOLOL!!!!!!!!! πŸ˜€

        1. fall on his bum? what does that even mean? you keep writing the same tired BS. steph curry fell on his head in the playoffs this past year… and the warriors won the title. stop posting already.

          1. #Russell looked like trash tonight? How’s that superstar potential working out? Lol πŸ™‚

          2. Aww you’re really a lakers fan, aren’t you? That would explain why you’re here all the time.

          3. ClippersRunTheyMouth just wants the attention. He doesn’t get any at the actual Clippers website so he’s forced to come over to the Lakers site where the cool kids are. He’s the Chester to the LAkers Spike. lol!

          4. “fall on his bum”. You know, his deriere. If you don’t know what I mean just watch this season.

          5. LOL. every player falls in every game. why don’t you head over to a women’s tennis site? far more your speed.

      2. You don’t have to win games in preseason, however, you have to show signs that you understand the plays. The Lakers had little to no plays that got them easy shots, outside of some great vision by Russell.

  • I didn’t like the way things looked in the first quarter when the main unit was in there. The offense definitely needs to go through Kobe more when he is on the floor – his talent is underutilized as just a catch and shoot player. The attention Kobe draws opens up opportunities for other players and he will find them. Kobe will probably only be on the floor for about half the game when the regular season rolls around, and they need to utilize his talents better when he is on the floor.

  • Positives

1). Russell didn’t turn the ball over and had some awesome passes
    2) Hibberts activity level was great
    3) Lou looked sick
    4) swaggy looked decent and showed defensive hustle
    5) JC is a beast
    6) bass looks solid

    Negatives

    1) Randle kind of sucks, is he just a deer in the headlights right now? I hope so
    2) Kelly a brown Jabari brown Sacre aren’t nba players
    3) Byron is lost, what was that offense?
    4) we can’t shoot

Overall it was bad after about halfway through the third…but no injuries so it was all good I guess.

  • IF SACRE AND KELLY ARE STILL ON THIS TEAM BY THE END OF PRESEASON, IF GONNA DRINK MYSELF INTO A COMA! THIS WILL BE A LONG ASS DEPRESSING SEASON AND BAD SEND OFF FOR KOBE. IF THEM TWO SUCKAS ARE STILL ON THIS TEAM ON THE SEASON OPENER NIGHT, KOBE SHOULD RETIRE THAT SAME NIGHT!

  • Byron Scott gotta go. He’s not a good coach, his offense is all over the place. We need to hire Tom Thibodeau!

    1. Tom T would certainly be an upgrade over Bryon Scott. Can’t dispute you there about Byron. I am not a fan too of his coaching.

    2. Right now I see this Lakers team is without an identity. They haven’t had an identity since Phil Jackson left. There’s got to be a system to be put in place, and hire a real coach like Thibodeau.

    3. there is no offensive structure in byron scotts offence…….its just basic pick and roll, postup, and iso ball……..agree thibs would be an upgrade. I think Byron needs to work more on offensive plays in practice bcuz he always preaching defense he must have forgotten about the offence lol.

    4. 100% with you. BScott cant coach….we have a pretty talented roster and a coach like Tom Thibodeau can really help this team win

    5. The lakers should stop kidding themselves and hire the most expensive staff out there. Invest in the future and lure Durant. They should hire scott brooks as head coach because he developed KD and Westbrook perfectly. And maybe even hire Thibs as an assitant coach for a great offense and defense. But sadly we’ll get byron scott and maybe they hire all the showtime lakers as coaches to teach the young guys how to play 80’s basketball in a modern era. Smh

      1. yes Scott Brooks is still available he’s a pretty good coach… we need to hire him and fire byron scott ASAP for fucks sake!

    6. Tom and Byron are both pretty similar, they are both defensive minded coaches with a stagnant offensive system. They both also tend to overplay their players and favor vets of the younger players. Besides the front office won’t fire BS since they will get a lot of negative publicity from fans and former players like Magic.

  • Funny you say that fuckboy because the Clippers have, oh wait they don’t have any. Kobe > bitchass Clippers. and you the biggest fuckboy on the internet, I bet I could whoop yo ass

  • BYRON SCOTT BEEN SIPPIN TOO MANY PINA COLADA’S IN HAWAII. ANYBODY WHO WOULD SIT THEIR ASS UP THERE AND PLAY SACRE AND KELLY GOT TO BE DRUNK AS FUCK.

    1. BYRON IS A PHONY COACH WHO BLAMES OTHERS FOR HIS FAULTS OVVERATED IF HE CARED HE WOULD NOT SIT LIKE A LOSER LOOKING LIKE THE COTHER COACH JUST OUTPLAYED HIM WORST COACH EVER!

  • Hibbert looking good. Lou will definitely replicate his last season. I doubted JC but I’m now more convinced that he’ll be the one at 2.

JR still doesn’t have a clue how to use his body. I feel he needs to build up more confidence. Russel didn’t do shit.. smell of a bust.

    1. Agree with everything but the last part.
Russell actually played well. Din’t shoot the ball well but he had confidence out there.

    2. Russell played exactly like a rookie.

Did you think he would be an all star guy from his first minutes in the NBA?
      – He’s a future All Star, not a Legend.

      1. A rookie who plays like one shouldn’t start for a team that says they will contend for playoff. Right?

  • MY observations, Randle should not start yet. Playing with 2 rookies (Randle is technically a rookie) & 2nd year guard in the starting line-up is not ideal. Bass should start, with his reliable midrange jumper & pick & pop tendecies it will open the floor for Russell & Clarkson. Also Kobe shouldn’t be camped in the corners. Never a good spot up shooter, he should come accross screens like the play they ran for Nick Young where he hit a turnaround fallaway. Kibe gets his shot on the move. Randle off the bench will give the Lakers another playmaker alongside Williams and Young. They can also play faster since they don’t have Hibbert & Kobe, Randle can push the ball & create an uptempo 2nd unit just like what Farmar & Odom does before.

  • I don’t care what anybody might be thinking now, all i know is LAKERS has suffer from too many losses in previous season and now we can keep accepting and add more to that, if in the next per season game again and Lakers can’t win, Byron Scott need to look for another job, likewise as LAKERS too.

  • RE: Kobe
Kobe’s other hand has more rings than the entire Clippers roster.

You talk crap, but it doesn’t make sense.

Step back from wanting to talk just to talk. Because we don’t want to read your nonsense. And most of us just skip your posts anyways.

  • Byron Scott is known for having the hardest training camp in the NBA. they had no legs which is why they shot so bad. Everyone calm down ita the 1st game after 2 a days training camp all week with no rest. We were up most of the game but none of our main players closed out the game because health and knocking off the rust is all that matters in preseason… we will be fine everyone chill

    1. OK, I’LL HAVE TWO COLT 45’S AND CHILL MY ASS OUT. BUT IF THEY LOSE THE NEXT GAME, I’M THROWIN EVERY CAN OF COLT 45 I HAVE AT THE TV

      1. you said that last time didn’t you? Throw them already. Believe me. It’s not getting any better this season.

    2. The problem is why B Scott don’t “close out” the 4th with the starters that’s my question. I’m tired of losing, and I’m sure he is too. Even though is preseason, wins and loses don’t count, but you still want to win every game to build up the confidence in players and fans.

    3. I was gonna say the same thing. They’ve been hitting it really hard all week with these 2 a days and conditioning drills. They need to chill out tomorrow and just have a light shoot around and enjoy the beach or something and be fresher Tuesday. Utah is a top defensive team though. They’re tough to score a lot of points on. Randle has Gobert in the paint waiting for him whenever he attacks the basket. It’s not easy to score on this particular team.

      1. but Lakers shouldn’t lose to them by 20 pts either, absolute no excuse. Byron Scott can’t coach period. Coaches puts in the starters back to close it out, only Scott puts in the garbage to play the 4th.

        1. No excuse? The excuse is it’s preseason. The main players had the lead going into the 4th before they were pulled. Did you watch the game? Kobe only played the first qtr so obviously winning this game wasn’t that important.

          1. uh preseason is what gets the groove in regular season why do you think teams have it to develop players that’s stupid on you the emphasis is to show what you did and win games to build confidence look at the raptors they have anew revamped team like us and they played in rhythm no excuses in this world dude!

  • HAHAHAHA GOT BLOWN THE FUCK OUT BY THE JAZZ 90 to 71 ROFLMAO
    28.9% FG% and 26.1 3FG%
Holy fucking shit the Fakers are going to win Kobrick’s 6th ring for sure
Randle 2-10 with only 7 rebs
    Clarkshit 4-13 with 1ast
Your FUTURE PG is 2-8 1-4 with 3 ast and 2TO
And of course the ONE AND ONLY KOBRICK BEAN BRYANT
    1-5 and 1-3 2-2 LOL

But of course it’s just preseason !

    TANK UP!

    1. Didn’t Jeremy Lin have another of his stunning 1 assist 4 turnover games all the while being outplayed by another 29 year old scrub Brian Roberts? Enjoy watching hickstown games, if they even show them on tv.

          1. Stomp with what? Did you see Kobrick’s first attempt at the basket today? Hit the corner of the backboard LOL

        1. ‘we’ lol, you won’t be a hornets fan next season when Jeremy Lin ends up 3rd string point guard to Kemba and Harrison and ends up going to another team.

          1. We don’t care, we’re having too much fun watching Kobe pass the ball into the fifth row.

          2. One thing for sure is that we’ll have a higher chance making it into the playoffs than your brick layering team.

    2. THIS CHINES MUTHA FUCKA SHOULD BE WORKING IN PANDA EXPRESS COOKING MY ASS UP SOME ORANGE CHICKEN!

    3. Kobrick will retire with 5 rings. He knows, we all know it. The sad thing for him is he can’t even retire in dignity as bad as he plays now. Nothing short of embarrassing.

  • Jim buss said he gona resign if lakers are not contenders in 2 years. Does that mean Jeanie gona run it?? so we can have Phil Jackson back?

    1. Phil ain’t coming back ever, he runs the Knicks, he’s not going to be a coach no more. We should hire Tom Thibodeau.

        1. Phil wants to do his own things in New York, plus he played for the Knicks when he was a player. I guess Mitch wouldn’t want Phil back either.

  • I Love what Robert Horry said during Access Lakers: (in response to Stupid gm mitch’s project of Scrawny, now u can c, worthless D’Angelo Russell & WEAK on D Randall Projects, wtf), WE R LAKERS, AND “DON’T” HAVE TIME FOR PROJECTS, BUT “THIS IS LA” AND “LA WANTS CHAMPIONSHIPS”!!! I’m telling You, Lou W runs Our offense, Swaggy and KB, AND Our Twin Towers, of Upshaw and Hibbert. Now there are Your players for success, NOW!

      1. NO SIGN, NOR THE SLIGHTEST indication that KB is done!! Dude has 2 more Championship rings in HIM.- Best

      2. But, but I may leaning to actually saying, Bryon doesn’t have Coaching skill. But then again, mitch selected Byron as coach, soooo, it all leads back to dumb mitch. Best

      3. “Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.”

I don’t know why it is you hate the guy so much, but it’s truly getting annoying seeing you posts your hate for Kobe for the past few years on this site almost 24/7. Channel your energy in something positive. I doubt you’ll take my advice, but I hope you let go of your disdain and focus on yourself and accomplish great things in your life. • OMFG y’all acting like the Lakers losing is a huge surprise, I already had low expectations since well let me list them.

    1. Too many unproven rookies
    2. Lack of team chemistry with new faces and with the injuries that happen past season
    3. Scott was obviously experimenting, if he wanted to win he would had put Lou, Clarkson, and Young on the floor considering those 3 were our top players tonight
    4. Jazz isn’t a push over, did you guys see their record after the All-Star break? They could be a potential 6th seed.

Start worrying when the games count, don’t forget this team is on rebuilding mode and expecting the Lakers to win on a consistent bases is day dreaming.

  • What did I say??? Get rid of Scare, Kelly, but keep Small Black. Keep A. Brown. NO TIME FOR D Russell and Randall Project !!!! Lou IS Laker PG. – Best

    1. Plenty of time, its not like Lou will take them to the playoffs, might as well develop our rookies

      1. NO time Bro, if want to make PO this yr. Lou is better than both DR and Randall . . . Lou by his self, needs Swag and KB – Now that backcourt will take Lakers to PO. Send Rooks to D-League, NOW. I’m telling U, I can see it, the ROOKS r NOT Ready!!! Jeez, they had summer league, to show U. I can tell u, I C that they R NOT NBA ready – MAYBE five yrs from now. So I’m sending them to D-League, to NOT make mitch appear like a FOOL. – Best

        1. No time for what bro? This roster NO MATTER how you put the starting line up isn’t going to beat the Warriors, Clippers, Spurs, Thunders, Grizzles and so on…this roster isn’t good enough to win anything except MAYBE a playoff spot and that is a HUGE maybe like 10% chance maybe.

No shit they are not ready, that’s why its vital for them to DEVELOP and becomes accustom to the NBA and not have their young asses sitting on the bench being stagnant while our vets are getting older and older. What do you think a draft pick is for? Its for our FUTURE.

Your goals are unrealistic and small minded when you can’t see the bigger picture.

          1. If WE open some salary, by getting rid of them damn Rooks, scare, kelly, HELL, throw Metta away 2. This allows Lakers to go after some FA. How do I tell U??? Maybe if I show u by, putting those stupid la projects on the FA list – NO ONE, ONE will take them. Except dumb mitch. Yes, IF, IF a Rook is one step away from GREATNESS, yes put ’em in. But ours??? F**K, they are YEARS AWAY, Bro. – Best

          4. seriously. he thinks lou williams leading the team is the way to win another championship.

          5. LMFAO exactly! This team doesn’t have enough talent period. I think this roster is going to be better than last season, but this still isn’t enough. Right now if the Lakers actually make it on the 8th seed, that would be the equivalent of Lakers fans winning the mega million.

          6. You are without question the most stupid clown shoe-wearing so called Lakers fan in the world. Even the Lin only fans and the blatant haters make more sense than you do. Get with the times.

          8. You’re just very mad and bitter at the fact that this franchise is on rebuilding mode, and you’re so fucken desperate that you put Lou as a starting PG giving the Lakers a extra 3 wins at most than to have our rookies develop for the future.

  • What happened? Lakers Nation articles kept saying we had an offense – sure didn’t see it Tonite. Interior defense stinks especially when Hibbert out. Jazz had 6-7 dunks! BS plays Sacre 15+ min but not 1 minute for Upshaw? Unbelievably Kelly impressed me more in his 5 min @ PF than Randle or Bass did. Williams & Clarkson look good @ the guards & Young played well @ SF.

    1. Wow, True that . . . nice analysis bro. Yeah, hopefully We can see a little Twin tower action tues with Upshaw and Hibbert. Cuz, Hibbert needs Upshaw help, controlling the WEST paint – Like Robert Horry said tonight, Help the Helper. Best

  • fall on his bum? what does that even mean? you keep writing the same tired BS. steph curry fell on his head in the playoffs this past year… and the warriors won the title. stop posting already.

    1. “fall on his bum”. You know, his deriere. If you don’t know what I mean just watch this season.

      1. LOL. every player falls in every game. why don’t you head over to a women’s tennis site? far more your speed.

  • Tibs is a defensive genius can’t coach offense, Mike D’antoni is a offensive genius can’t coach defense… Hire Tibs as head coach and Mike D’antoni as assistant coach and you’ll get the best of both worlds. Of course not going to happen with the way people just hated on MDA but that would be a killer coaching duo. BS just not up to speed on the modern NBA game to do anything with this team.

    1. MDA would be so much better for this roster. Offense would be much more fluid.Russell and Clarkson running fast breaks. Randle pushing the tempo like a young Boris Diaw with Stoudimire athletic ability. The best thing for a young team is the simplicity of just running.

  • Did anyone notice the clippers lost by 20 tonight? Calm down people. No one should have expected perfection in preseason game one.

  • Did anyone notice the clippers lost by 20 tonight? Calm down people. No one should have expected youth movement perfection in preseason game one.

  • First off It appears that most people that post on here are more concerned with their predictions and opinions being right than supporting a fully revamped team.

Obviously it will take the Lakers players and their coach time to sift through all the pieces they have to work with. The Lakers are the last team in the league that is worrying about winning a preseason “first” game. Most teams the Lakers will start will be returning 4 or 5 of their starting lineup. While the Lakers will be starting 5 new players from last year.

This is the NBA. It is the toughest basketball league in the world. No team will ever be able to assemble basically 12 or so new players and just light the league on fire game one of the preseason of all games. What a joke this forum is with so many know it alls and bandwagon pessimist.

So when the Lakers win will they all of a sudden be a great team? No, of course not. They are gonna be up and down for a while until the coach figures out what combinations work best and who he can depend on to bring it at home and on the road. They will also play with much more heart and intensity when the game actually matter.

And some of the players are being given a shot to still make the team and/ or showcase so they can be shipped off to another team. I am confident in time the Lakers will get on a roll and move in a northern direction. Just stay healthy.

    Go Lakers !

    1. Okay, I almost feeling myself settling down enough to go to sleep, so I can make it to work tomorrow, lol. I hate saying this, but ur making sense. I just can’t stand seeing our same o’le BIGs, not defending the rim, makes me mad to watch. I apologize. But can we not get so comfortable in this losing mode stuff, so early on? I’m all for developing a player, who may this Season, become someone Coach can depend on, in Coach’s style. Notice I said, this Season, because I just don’t see how, our Laker Brains can’t seem to get us any where near our Dynasty years, and soon. – Best

      1. Oh you can bet they did not assemble this team with any plans on tanking.
If you compare this team to any team the Lakers have had since the 2011 back to back champions, it is better than any team since 2011.

The only team you can even compare is the 2012-2013 team. That was the last playoff team the Lakers have had. But this team is actually better than that team depth wise. I also think it will be better chemistry wise. The 2012-2013 team had the wild idea of turning the Lakers into the Phoenix Suns. They were counting too much on Dwight Howard and Steve Nash being the key to the offense. Horrible decision that was IMO. That decision upset Pau Gasol and it showed in his attitude and his play.

That decision put Pau Gasol in a 3rd or 4th option taking a backseat to Dwight Howard. And Dwight Howard was a immature, disrespectful, poor work ethic, offensive skill lacking, egotistical loser, who never brought his heart or intentions to play in Los Angeles. They also had every point guard on the team go down to injury that year among other injuries. 2012-2013 had horrible team chemistry. D-12 appeared to be there to divide the team more than anything else.

This year I like the addition of the few veterans they have added to compliment and support the young bright prospects. They will also be able to add a player or two once they see any areas of concern by regular season trade deadline. The main thing at this point is to stay healthy and be patient with the process. Because it will take time and there will be ups and downs until trust, timing, and chemistry sets in.

        Go Lakers !

        1. Thank you, for that. Two insights, if I may? One, what will be / might be, the chance our veterans, getting impatient or upset with current Russell, Randal project? Two, have We ever looked at Joe Engles? I said this earlier, it is not a man-crush or nothing, but hey, I’m kinda digging the Aussie’s skill, for real. – Best

          1. Thomas,

I think “most” coaches, players, fans, the F.O., and owners want to win more than they want to develop players at the expense of developing a culture and practice of losing. Most realize at one time the Oakland Raiders were the winningest team in all professional sports.

Most understand habits are hard to break and good ones are not easy to lock in. I would imagine Byron Scott noticed how hard Mark Jackson worked to build the Warriors into a confident team only to have the keys to that Rolls Royce turned over to Steve Kerr.

Byron Scott has no other choice but to get the team winning games or his days coaching the team will be short. So if Russell and Randle or anyone else old or young is not cutting it I believe they will be passing towels and filling up water bottles as they should be. No player is bigger than or should come before the success of the team.

I have no idea on whether the Lakers have looked at Joe Engles or not.

I do think the Lakers are not necessarily done making moves quite yet.
They will make a move or two later in the season before trade deadlines once they see what is needed.

            Go Lakers !

  • Lineups should be based on skills complementing each player not by popularity or because of being a hi-draft pick. I’m sure Randle won’t mind being a back-up for now if it means giving him more time to develop rather than being outplayed everytime by the other teams starting forward. His skillset will also be more useful with the 2nd unit where they can play faster and where he can also get the ball in the post. Unlike in the starting line-up where they need to play slower because of Hibbert and Kobe & also Kobe needs to get in the post to be effective making Randle play out of his strengths.

    1. Hey, I just noticed Jazz Engles, did Lakers ever think seriously about Joe? It’s not a man-crush or nothing, but hey I think the Aussie may have something there. Anyway, nice comment tho Bro. – Best

  • First off It appears that most people that post on here are more concerned with their predictions and opinions being right than supporting a fully revamped team.

Obviously it will take the Laker players and their coach time to sift through all the new pieces they have to work with. The Lakers are the last team in the league that is worrying about winning a preseason “first” game. Most teams the Lakers will play will be returning 4 or 5 of their starting lineup. While the Lakers will be starting 5 new players none from the start of last year. Unless you count Kobe Bryant the only constant from the back to back championship team until Metta was signed.

This is the NBA. It is the toughest basketball league in the world. No team will ever be able to assemble basically 12 or so new players and just light the league on fire game one of the preseason of all games. What a joke this forum is with so many know it alls and bandwagon pessimist. Not to mention the haters with multiple user names and accounts who clone themselves like idiots starving for attention.

So when the Lakers win will they all of a sudden be a great team? No, of course not. They are gonna be up and down for a while until the coach figures out what combinations work best and who he can depend on to bring it at home and on the road. They will also play with much more heart and intensity when the game actually matter. There will be a smaller rotation to allow players to get into rhythm. Preseason are practice games.

Some of the players are being given a shot to still make the team and/ or showcase so they can be shipped off to another team? Or some other decision can be made. I am confident in time the Lakers will get on a roll and move in a northern direction. Just stay healthy.

Dwight Howard should have came with the same defensive mindset and positive contributing attitude Hibbert came with.

Most understand bad habits are hard to break and good ones are not easy to lock in. I would imagine Byron Scott noticed how hard Mark Jackson worked to build the Warriors into a confident team only to have the keys to that Rolls Royce turned over to Steve Kerr.

Byron Scott has no other choice but to get the team winning games or his days coaching the team will be short. So if Russell and Randle or anyone else old or young is not cutting it, I believe they will be passing towels and filling up water bottles as they should be. No player is bigger than or should come before the success of the team.

I have no idea on whether the Lakers have looked at Joe Engles or not.

I do think the Lakers are not necessarily done making moves quite yet.
They will make a move or two later in the season before trade deadlines once they see what is needed.

      1. Thanks for the acknowledgment Rico ! I’m sure many of us often feel like were alone and wonder why what appears so obvious to us so many just don’t get. That can be a bit frustrating. It takes a bit more imagination to see beyond the present. But not every one uses their whole brain.

        Hang in there Rico !

  • I mean its just preseason. Liking how Hibbert is protecting the rim but he needs help from his teammates too.

  • the difference between the lakers player movement and the jazz player movement is astounding. bscott running the same trash he did last year.

  • The excuses Fanboys will dream up for every Lakers failure this season will be better than most of the games.

  • Yea hibbert needed help. Byron Scott so dumb he got the fellas thinking roy got the whole defense assignment to himself lol

    1. True, but won’t diss the coach. The players should know what type of role they’ll have this upcoming season. Everyone just looks lost, however, this season’s on Scott.

  • I told you so. – LOF

You guys can hype Kobe, BS, Julius Randle and JC all you want but they aint getting anywhere this season. I predict a worse season than last season.

Meanwhile, Lin is winning games with the Hornets.

    1. excellent points. preseason is EVERYTHING. i don’t know why they wait until june to hand out the larry o’brien trophy.

      1. You can tell from preseason how well the team will do in regular season. I predicted last season that the Lakers would suck when I saw the amount of ISO plays. I knew they would suck. Only a few players on Lakers last season knew how to win games as a team (Lin, Wesley, Ed)

          1. Not BS. Not Kobe. Not Julius Randle. Not anyone on the current Lakers team. You need to wipe it all like a whiteboard and start with choosing a new coach that knows modern basketball.

          2. And yes, Lin finished more games than Kobe last season. Did you not forget the 3-4 free tacos he gave staples center?

What was your question? Why are you talking about titles when your team won’t even make the playoffs.

          3. cause the next Hornets game is in a week and I already know Hornets will beat the Clippers.

I just want to rub it in your wounds cause you guys love to bash Lin last year and make him your scapegoat. Who will be your scapegoat now?

          4. LOL. that makes absolutely zero sense. even if it’s a week before the next hornets game, it’s not like they’re shutting down the hornets’ sites for a week! you should head on over there, kiddo.

          5. I’m smart enough the multitask. I have two windows open. One to get back at you losers and one to praise Lin.

          6. make me losers. Keep praising your false prophet Kobe while the real prophet schools you.

          7. why would you keep coming to a site of a team that you’re not a fan of? you talk about how intelligent you are… and what you’re doing is incredibly dumb.

          8. Jeremy Lin’s Scapegoats: Keith Smart, Stephen Curry, Mike Woodson, Carmelo Anthony, Raymond Felton, Kevin McHale, James Harden, Patrick Beverley, Kobe Bryant, Byron Scott, Ronnie Price, Jordan Clarkson…
            ………………………………………………….
…soon to be added: Kemba Walker, Brian Roberts, Aaron Harrison, Steve Clifford.

          9. How is Curry Lin’s scapegoat. They are friends and were featured together in his latest YT video that has 4 million views. FACTS.

          10. You probably don’t remember, it was before that one month that Jeremy Lin actually played well. I know it was a while ago perhaps you’ve forgotten. Nice to see though that you only really are arguing about the ONE scapegoat. There is still an entire paddock full of them.

          11. Nope they are best friends. Curry is playing for Lin’s hometown and Lin is playing for Curry’s hometown. Lin got to dance with Riley. Are you jelly that Kobe didn’t get to dance with Riley? Kobe would break all his bones if he did the nae nae

          12. Am I “jelly” that Kobe Bryant didn’t dance with some little girl? Are you a 12 year old female? You’ve still failed to address the paddock of scapegoats.

          13. there is no proof that dwight had a relationship with an underage girl. But Kobe marrying an underage girl is all the proof you need. He got 5 championship rings and 1 pedophile ring.

          14. actually, when kobe and vanessa were married, vanessa was 19. so once again, you’ve been proven wrong. hey, at least you’re consistent.

          15. doesn’t matter, cause he banged her when she was 16. Lets also not forget the cheating incident.

          16. Do you have proof that she was 16? No, you do not. And if you want to talk about pro athletes cheating, let’s list them all. Leave the site, lintard

          17. And to address the paddock of scapegoats, We Lin fans had legit reasons to believe politics were the reasons why Lin was marginalized on Rockets and Lakers. Not so much in the Knicks.

          18. it’s only a matter of time before you turn against Steve Clifford too. Then next season when Lin is on his 6th team in 6 years, you’ll turn on whoever is coaching him there. Cause it’s never Lin’s fault.

          19. Nope, we Lin fans love Clifford. He’s a great coach who uses analytics to coach. Unlike BS and McHale.

          20. Just for the record I like Lin. But here is the facts as I see them.

Jeremy Lin I believe was very fortunate the Warriors gave him an opportunity to join their team even though they probably knew he was not good enough at the time to take Curry or Ellis starting positions.

But the league is lacking members of other ethnicities out side of black and white. And the league realizes there are a billion people in China. The league saw the money to be made in China after Yao Ming and Kobe Bryant became so popular there. They also know there are many Asians, Hispanic, pacific Islanders, European, and other ethnicities here in the U.S. and around the world that would love to have representatives in the NBA. That is why they are trying to open up more opportunities for others. It is a business to the NBA. It’s about the money not the game.

So first they tried to send Lin to Houston since Yao Ming had already opened the door with that organization helping them and the NBA tap into millions of dollars. But as they saw Lin was not gaining the type of hype and publicity needed to increase the demand in merchandise and tickets sales expected. So the league decided where else would be better than New York (the media capitol of the world)to gain the hype and attention they were seeking.

So if you research you will see that the 3 week or so period that Lin shined I believe the only team with a winning record they beat was the Lakers. And it was the last game of about a 5 or 6 game road trip for the tired Lakers. Yes Lin did play ok in New York but much that was hype and insignificance. It’s not like any of the games were playoffs or even meaningful towards getting into the playoffs. It was much more hype than substance.

Lin made it to the NBA. You should be happy and proud of that. But Lin is not a great player and most likely never will be a great player so you should stop comparing him to great players or knocking great players.

Many basketball fans myself included wish Lin well in Charlotte. We know whether he succeeds there or not Lin has still surpassed great odds by being one of the few Harvard grads and Asian players to make it in the NBA. Good luck in the future to him !

Now Lin is gone. If you really like him that much please go with him and let the Laker’s forum be just that, a Laker’s forum.

            Go Lakers !
