Dwight Howard Does Not See Trade in Near Future

Dwight Howard has been taking over headlines with his latest trade rumors and the most recent report indicates that there is a 100% chance that Howard will be a member of the Orlando Magic come All-Star weekend. Howard has not taken back his trade request, but he understands that the team will not make a move during its hot start.

Marc J. Spears, Yahoo! Sports reports:

“I don’t think they are going to do anything right now because we’re winning,” Howard said after a 104-97 victory over the Sacramento Kings improved the Magic’s record to 6-3. “Even if this is the last season, let’s go out hard, regardless.”

Howard later went on to say that he does not expect the Magic to trade him prior to the NBA’s trade deadline on March 15.

There have been rumors saying the Lakers are trying to acquire Howard in a deal that would include Andrew Bynum, but the latest reports surely impede any progress. On top of that Bynum has played exceptionally well this season and is trying to convince the front office that it should keep him in Los Angeles.

So far in this 2011-12 season, Bynum has averaged 18.8 points per game and 15.7 rebounds per game. As for Howard, he has been putting up 18.6 points and 14.6 rebounds per contest.
