Carmelo Anthony Says He Doubts He’ll Wear Purple And Gold Outfit

Kobe Bryant Carmelo AnthonyIt’s no secret that the Lakers are positioning themselves to make a big splash in the summer of 2014 with some of the league’s marquee players becoming free agents. One of those guys is Carmelo Anthony, and he’s one of the players the Lakers are rumored to be going after once the 2013-14 season comes to an end.

Anthony was recently in Los Angeles, and was spotted by the TMZ crew who asked him if he can see himself in a “purple and gold outfit.”

Anthony’s response wasn’t much as he nonchalantly replied,  “Uhhh, I doubt it.”

The TMZ interviewer didn’t necessarily ask if Melo could see himself playing with the Lakers at some point in the future, but it was implied in the context of the question.

While there is little to be gained from this brief run in with TMZ, we at least know that Anthony will have to field questions about his impending future with the Lakers during the upcoming season.

Anthony was also asked about teaming up with LeBron James and whether or not they could play well together. Anthony didn’t offer much to that question, either, simply citing that they played on the US Olympic team together.

We’re still a whole year away from the next free agency period, so anything right now will be speculation, but it’s something that we’ll have to keep an eye on as these stories progress. Check out the TMZ video below.
