Byron Scott Plans To Sit Kobe Bryant Against Trail Blazers

Before the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, head coach Byron Scott says he plans to sit Kobe Bryant for tomorrow’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

With Kobe resting on the second night of a back-to-back, he will not travel with the team to Portland tomorrow according to Winters:

After resting for three games due to general soreness, Scott has limited his superstar to 32 minutes per game. With the five-time champion looking to evolve his game, he has become a facilitator and the Lakers have played well despite their recent 109-106 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Coming off two significant season-ending injuries and in his 19th season, Kobe has had difficulties recovering following games. With Scott continuing to figure out a plan to limit Kobe’s minutes, sitting him out a game in back-to-back situations is encouraging.

Since his return, Kobe is averaging 16.0 points, 9.3 rebounds and 8.7 assists in 32.3 minutes.
