Bryant: Nash ‘Gives us a Great Chance’ to Win Championship

The Los Angeles Lakers made one of the biggest splashes this off-season by acquiring Steve Nash from the Phoenix Suns. Nash gives the Lakers the dynamic point guard they have always wanted and someone who can create easy looks for Kobe Bryant.

The Lakers were ousted from the second round of the playoffs the last two post-seasons, but this move has made the team into title contenders once again. With Nash running the point, the Lakers have assembled one of the most talented starting fives in the league.

Kobe Bryant is excited about the upcoming season for the Lakers and sees Nash as the missing piece to the championship puzzle, according to USA News.

“He gives us a much, much better chance,” Bryant said Friday at the U.S. Olympic men’s basketball camp in Las Vegas. “He gives us a great chance.”

Nash is a player that makes everyone around him better and has proven that he can carry a franchise on his shoulders. Although the Suns were no longer title threats, Nash almost single-handedly brought a sub-par team to the playoffs in 2012. Nash made Marcin Gortat and Channing Frye into solid NBA players, so imagine what he can do with Andrew Bynum and Kobe Bryant.
