Video: Young Lakers Revel In Early Morning ‘breakfast Club’ Workouts

Expectations for the Los Angeles Lakers are not high for this upcoming year. This young squad, however, plans on turning some heads this season and surprising people with how they perform. The young Lakers have been working hard all summer, even being dubbed the ‘Breakfast Club’ for their constant early morning workouts.

The club originally only consisted of Julius Randle, D’Angelo Russell, Larry Nance Jr., Jordan Clarkson, and Anthony Brown. Now with the resigning of Tarik Black, as well as the drafting of Brandon Ingram and Ivica Zubac, the “Breakfast Club” just got a little bigger, but the work has not stopped via the Lakers Instagram:

Despite being projected to have the fewest wins in the NBA, this young Lakers squad is looking to showcase the next generation of purple and gold. They have already begun that journey by building a rapport together through these morning workouts.

However, head coach Luke Walton has made it clear that a vast jump in the win column, isn’t necessarily the primary goal this season. Instead, he is focused on building a solid foundation with this bevy of talent the Lakers have acquired through the last three NBA Drafts.

Aside from grooming the members of this young squad, the Lakers will be hoping to put a product on the floor that could possibly attract a member of next year’s loaded free agency class.
