Every Saturday until February 8, Nike will release a new pair of Kobes as a part of their Prelude Series. Last Saturday, Nike released the Prelude Is, and will release the IIs through the VIIs in sequence in the following weeks until they release the Kobe IXs, Bryant’s newest shoe.
At the Nike Vault at LA Live, a new piece of art work will be unveiled that corresponds with each version of the Kobes. This past Saturday, Nike invited Los Angeles artist Allison “Hueman” Torneros to talk about her surrealist painting of Bryant, saying that his 81-point game was inspiration for her painting.
This Saturday’s event will feature the Prelude IIs, which commemorate Bryant’s stretch of four consecutive 50+ point games. For more information on the Prelude IIs, check out NikeInc’s website. For more information on Hueman’s work, check out her website here.
