VIDEO: Mike D’Antoni Reaction – Is Kobe Playing Opening Night?

After the Lakers beat the Utah Jazz in their final preseason game on Friday night, Lakers head coach Mike D’Antoni was asked if there was any chance, in his mind, that Kobe Bryant could play on opening night. His response was anything but optimistic.

“No, my God – I know he’s superman but my god, since he hasn’t run yet.”

D’Antoni continued – almost speechless, at the thought of Kobe returning Tuesday.

“I mean, no I don’t think, you know, maybe I, you know, but …you know, he can’t run yet, my god if that happens it’s like – Wow.”

The Lakers declined to make a public statement that Kobe would officially be ruled out for Tuesday, but there was a clear sentiment amongst Lakers personnel, that it would be crazy to think Kobe will play opening night.
