Video: Meet Lakers Rookie Darius Johnson-Odom

By | October 3, 2012|

Lakers Nation, it’s time to meet Darius Johnson-Odom, the Lakers’ No. 55 pick in the 2012 draft (via cash trade with Dallas). The shooting guard out of Marquette will be looking to provide even more depth off the bench.

At 6 foot 2 inches, one might be surprised by his Life Saver Gummies addiction (insert Lamar Odom joke here), and even more impressed with his dancing skills.

Besides showing Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters the “L.A. Dougie,” the rookie already started calling out Dwight Howard.

“I’m a better dancer than Dwight.”

A word of advice Darius: I’d be careful calling out Howard, it sounds like he’s taking over the nicknaming power in the Lakers household.

The rookie also tells us about his middle name, Earvin, named after Lakers legend Magic Johnson, whom he has yet to meet.

Id put djo behind steve nash, great shooter let him learn how to pass from one of the greatest passers to play the game and he could become easliy one of the best point guards in the game,(A+ potential)

i think steve blake(injured) and chris duhon should learn from steve nash who are already point guards and know how to play as a point guard, i think DJO will struggle a bit and i think he playing style is good at a SG position
