The correct answer is on a case by case/possession by possession basis. There will be times when the defense has a player who can force Nash to play defense and it would be wise to get him tired by double teaming him and forcing him to take some shot off the dribble. There will be times when the defense can use this same strategy on Kobe, especially in the fourth quarter when he is tired and may make bad choices because he believes it is his responsibility to win games. There will also be times when the ball is in the post and doubling a post player can usually be an easy steal for the defense. Pau is a much better passer out of the post but if his head isnt on a swivel you can easily take the ball away. Dwight is not as good as passer as Pau and doubling him on occasion would probably be the best double team of all. However, if the Lakers throw the ball into Pau and Pau makes a quick move to the basket in either shots the ball or throws a lob to Dwight, double teaming anyone on the LAKERS will be futile!!! Please dont let any other team get post. lol
