Video: Lakers Fans Talk about Dwight Howard, Season Expectations

By | August 10, 2012|

With the Los Angeles Lakers having just acquired Dwight Howard, it only makes sense to look back on what all the fans were saying over the weekend, and trust me, the fans had plenty to say about the big man. Although most emphasized Howard’s consistency and athleticism, some alluded to his “drama queen” tendencies.

The three-time Defensive Player of the Year,  was of course compared to Andrew Bynum, who has just been traded to the 76ers alongside Jason Richardson. Lakers Nation fans didn’t shy away from admitting that when engaged, Bynum’s talent surpasses Howard’s…But, the majority would take Howard’s consistency over what could be with Andrew Bynum.

Do you think Howard’s too much trouble? Or is he exactly what the Lakers need to bring this city another championship? Leave your comments below. We want to hear from you, because who knows, you might just show up on our next fan segment!

    You
got to understand coming from Lakers Fan born out the whom perspective.
I hate Bandwagoners one reason I didn’t want Dwight is because now we
going to have a lot of phonies taking ticket away from real fans people
talking non-sense like heat fans, etc that’s one. Two, Andrew want to be
here he love this team Dwight didn’t, he stated that the Lakers wasn’t
his top 5 choice he chose the Clippers over
us the CLIPPERS!!! Until other teams were like fuck you and then we got
Steve Nash, so as an escape goat to get out of Orlando at the last
movement he want to be a Laker. I dont know about you but I’m a proud
Lakers fan and that’s not cool to me. Three this dude signing a 1 year
contract when we had Andrew for like 3 more years so now if he starts
being supergirl and doing what he did in ORL we will be out of a center
and everyone is going to bitch and talk shit about him and Mitch because
everyone going to feel screwed which we would be if that happens. Four,
when did air ball free throws, most travels in the NBA, no post game he
has like 2 moves, horrible hook shot, and most his points come from
like 1 foot from the rim that make you a great center. If I wasn’t
mistakin’ Andrew had a jumper at least from the Free Throw line, has
better foot work at the rim,and if he can’t get all the way inside hey
he had that hook/sky hook shot. Five, people compare maturity ok if you
look them Andrew is 23 going on 24 Dwight 26 going on 27, Andrew got
drafted out of High school Dwight out of college but look at this here
were it runs away. Dwight is a 3 year leader in techs Andrew has never
lead in techs, Dwight goes around in a mini cape doing the soulja boy
dance while stealing others people nickname (which show his disrespect
towards others) Andrew doesn’t do non-sense that my baby cousin are
doing and he earned his Nickname. Dwight has try many of time to get his
Coaches and GMs fired Andrew never tried to get anyone fired even
though they both had problems with the coach, but think about that, one
had a BRAND new coach and one had the same coach since he has been in
the NBA. Andrew never gave Phil problems. Then yes the 3 pointer for one
lets get this straight Dwight has done that more than Andrew but no one
says anything Drew does it once and its a crisis and all I have to say
is I rather have Drew shooting 3s before Dwight shit Drew makes Free
Throws. So you tell me who more mature. Six, Defense and Rebounding a
lot of people say Dwight has the advantage, my opinion is they are equal
but in a different ways. They both can guard on the perimeter they both
interrupt shots one with there length and one with there shot blocking.
it just one not recorded in the books.Rebounding they are both just as
dominate one grabs them right off the rim and one uses there power. I
just felt we downgraded and now we going to have bandwagoner I hate
talking to bandwagoners I just seen one who thought fisher wore 12 are
you serious 12 idk man, but all I have to say is I will never like
Dwight so when he leaves I wont care but everyone on his jock already
don’t get butt hurt don’t get emotional when he does and when you see
Philly mad balling you got to respect them because he was ours and we
let him go and you can’t hate them because that. Well that just what
would be in a truth lakerhead’s mind that’s how I feel.

Some of your points are valid, but some are just lies.
      1. Howard is 2 years older , not 3. (Bynum is 24 turning 25)
      2. Howard got drafted out of highschool too, not college.
