The Los Angeles Lakers have a long list of celebrity fans, most of whom were in attendance for Kobe Bryant’s final game on April 13. One of those stars in the building was rapper and actor Ice Cube, a lifelong fan.

Most have seen Cube star in a number of movies, but some may not be aware that he has also produced many films as well including Are We There Yet and Barbershop: The Next Cut and he has something in mind for Kobe.

In an interview with Power 105.1’s Angie Martinez via The Breakfast Club Youtube Page, Cube revealed that he has an idea for a Kobe Bryant movie. Cube noted that the idea is strictly in his head for the time being and there is no script, but he does have an idea as to who would play the lead role.

The idea of a Kobe Bryant movie makes a lot of sense as Kobe went through an incredibly tumultuous career where he alienated fans and teammates at times, but also became one of the NBA’s greatest players.

Cube would be the perfect person to produce the movie as well. He produced the extremely well received NWA documentary, Straight Outta Compton, and directed an ESPN 30 For 30 on the Los Angeles Raiders. His credits, along with his love for Kobe and the Lakers would make for a great end product if this were to come ultimately to fruition.
