VIDEO: Byron Scott Talks Miscommunication, Jeremy Lin, Kobe Bryant

Despite losing to the Memphis Grizzlies 109-106, the Los Angeles Lakers showcased a solid and balanced performance Friday night. Ed Davis scored a season-high 20 points on 7-9 shooting with eight rebounds and two blocks. Jeremy Lin had his second 20+ point game as a Laker to go along with his five assists (20 on 9-14 shooting including 2-3 from three), just one point shy of his season-high of 21 points.

The Lakers outscored Memphis 16 to seven on fastbreak points, converting eight of their 10 attempts, scoring 20 points off 12 Memphis turnovers.

After the game, Byron Scott refused to believe the Lakers let this one slip away, confident his team competed extremely well against one of the best teams in the league. Scott also explains his decision of wanting his team to wait to foul, in which there was a bit of a miscommunication in the final seconds that led to Kobe Bryant running up to foul Mike Conley, despite Scott instructing Jeremy Lin not to do so.

Kobe Bryant followed up a triple-double performance in the Lakers win over the Denver Nuggets with a 15 point, nine rebounds and eight assists in 33 minutes performance. Scott discusses what’s working with Bryant in a more facilitating role.
