Tracy McGrady Interested in Los Angeles Relocation?

Former scoring champion and current free agent Tracy McGrady may have tipped his hand on Twitter recently when he posted a picture of himself wearing a Lakers jersey.

While the picture was certainly Photoshopped, McGrady included a simple question to go along with the image; yes or no?

The question arises now on whether or not the Lakers would even be interested in McGrady at this point. They already have an aging former scoring champion to play the wing position in Kobe Bryant, and with a stated desire to get younger reserves McGrady would seem like an odd fit for Los Angeles.

If the Lakers’ desire is to get younger don’t expect McGrady to be wearing a Lakers uniform in reality anytime soon. Even with the expected departure of Shannon Brown, the Lakers front office will most likely look for a younger, faster player to fill the athleticism void that Brown leaves behind.

Still, it appears as if McGrady is starting his own grass roots campaign to get the Lakers to at least consider him when looking at free agent options once the lockout is officially over. McGrady was once the most dominant scorer in the league, and dazzled crowds in Orlando much like Bryant did with his high scoring outbursts from 2006.
