3: A.C. Green

A.C. Green personified the term ‘Iron Man.’ Green would battle through injuries and setbacks and you could be sure that he would find his way on the court. Green stayed healthy throughout his NBA career and it would have taken a lot of keep him on the bench.

A.C. Green was drafted by the Lakers with the 23rd pick in the 1985 NBA Draft.  Green made an immediate impact on the Lakers in his first few years in the NBA and helped the team win the 1987 and 1988 Finals. Green worked alongside some of the franchise greats and earned respect from the veteran leaders.

After a hiatus away from the Lakers, Green returned to Los Angeles and this time he was the mentor for the young stars. In 2000, under the guidance of Green, the Lakers won another NBA championship with Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal as the stars.

Green spent nine seasons with the Lakers and only missed three games in that stretch.

Yes I agree Horry was better than Odom. I can’t for the life of me understand why these people loves Odom so much. First he’s the biggest baby I’ve ever seen, second he disappeared every single year in the playoffs.. Big shot Bob came through for us so many times especially in the playoffs.

Alvin James Worthy is indeed great, but he was actually a small forward.

Another list by this writer, who either can’t or won’t take the time to look further back than when he started watching basketball.  A fellow by the name of Vern Mikkelson played 10 seasons for the Lakers, averaged 14.4 PPG and 9.4 RPG while helping the Lakers to four NBA titles, being elected to six NBA all-star games and was a four-time 2nd team all NBA.  He’s not on the list, but Horry and Rambis are?  Please.

And by “history” you mean “since 1981″.

I wouldn’t put Karl Malone on the list, since he only played one year, but he was definitely better in 03-04 then Rambis ever was as a Laker.
