4. Jamaal Wilkes
Jamaal Wilkes was a winner throughout his collegiate and professional career, winning 3 NBA titles with the Lakers alone. Known for what Chick Hearn called “The 20 Foot Layup”, actually a jump shot from the corner, but due to how smooth it looked, appeared to be as easy as a layup. During the 1980 and 1982 championship years Wilkes was the Lakers 2nd leading scorer averaging 20 PPG and only being Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He played in 3 NBA All-Star games and was selected to the All-Defensive team twice in his career. Jamaal “Smooth as Silk” Wilkes will always be remember as one of the steadiest, most consistent and of course smoothest small forwards to play in the NBA.
