No. 1 – We have Kobe Bryant

Boston Celtics vs Los Angeles Lakers in Los Angeles

There is no question we have had the best player on the court for the past 7 years of NBA Basketball. There’s no secret that Kobe finds motivation any way he can to help drive him to be the best. Whether it’s waking up in the morning at 5am to hit the gym for 1000 Jumpers before breakfast, doing that extra rep of bench presses even though it burns like hell or running that extra mile even if it means puking up a lung. All that takes motivation to be the best.

What the Celtics did to him in the 2008 Finals definitely poured gasoline on the fire of motivation that burns within Kobe. Beating his team by 39 points in Game 6 in Boston. Feeling each piece of green and white confetti contaminate his skin as the Boston crowd cheered and the Boston players celebrated just yards from where he sat. That can sit inside a normal man and eat at them for the rest of their lives. Kobe Bryant is not a normal man.

Kobe instead got partial satisfaction with a ring in 2009 over the Orlando Magic. But like you and me, don’t you think Kobe wanted Boston again. Don’t you think he wish KG didn’t wuss out with a knee injury and made it to the 2009 Finals?

We Want Boston! We Want Boston! We Want Boston!

You heard it all year from the crowds at Staples Center and you hear it on Lakers Nation all the time!

The time is now! We got Boston!

We also got Kobe Bryant!
