The Origins of Mr. Fantastic aka Shannon Brown

His first game in LA, he turned the ball over to Atlanta Hawks guard Mario West. Instead of giving up on the play, Shannon chased him down and turned an easy dunk and into the highlight of the night. When Mario West went up strong for the dunk, Brown took off behind him, met him at the rim and pinned the ball against the glass with one hand. The Lakers bench almost fell over in euphoria. Even some of the Hawks players couldn’t contain their excitement. It was one of the most devastating blocks in recent memory.
They wound up calling a foul on the play, but his point was made:

That was really our first introduction to Shannon Brown. It turns out, the dude can play.

“I call him Mr. Fantastic,” says Lamar Odom.
