We begin first with the few times when Kobe has been injured, beginning with the game where he injured that pinkie. In that game, Kobe went 3 of 13 for a total of 6 points, although the Lakers ended up beating the Nets. The next game, at Atlanta, Kobe went 4 of 16 for 11 points in a Laker loss. By February 8, 2008, though, Kobe had figured out how to play through the injury, scoring 36 points on 11 of 26 shooting over more than 46 minutes, leading the Lakers to a road win against the Orlando Magic. In the next game, at Miami, Kobe logged just over 42 minutes, but increased his offensive efficiency, scoring 33 points on 10 of 15 shooting in a win over Dwyane Wade and the Heat.
Later that year, during the playoffs, Kobe suffered back spasms in a road loss to the Utah Jazz on May 11, 2008. In that game, although Kobe racked up 33 points, he was shooting just 13 of 33 in over 46 minutes of play. That game was sandwiched by a 50% FG game in a loss at Utah on May 9, and a 60
% FG game in a win at Staples Center on May 14.
