RUMOR: T’Wolves offer Lakers No. 2 Pick for Andrew Bynum

In their attempts to acquire young, proven talent to play alongside Kevin Love in the front court, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been exhausting all options to move the No. 2 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, which will be held this Thursday in New Jersey.

According to a post that appeared in the Twitter feed of NBA Confidential’s Sam Amick, the Timberwolves reportedly offered the the second overall pick in exchange for Andrew Bynum. However, while no official statement by the Lakers organization has been made regarding this report, it is highly unlikely that the Lakers would bite, as Jim Buss announced earlier this summer that their 23-year old center is untouchable.

Earlier this week, trade rumors between the Lakers and Timberwolves began to surface, specifically involving Pau Gasol, Kevin Love and/or the No. 2 pick as the main players in a possible deal. However, the possibility of a deal involving Gasol but not Love (and vice-versa) appears to have no chance at happening.
