Report: New Jersey Nets Expected to Deal for Dwight Howard

The news may have just gone from bad to worse for the Los Angeles Lakers. After news that their trade for Chris Paul was vetoed by David Stern and the NBA owners, it seems as if the other star they’re going after, Dwight Howard, might not be heading to Los Angeles either.

ESPN’s Chris Broussard is now reporting that the New Jersey Nets have emerged as the number one contender to land Howard.

If this is indeed the case the Lakers may have seen a starting lineup that featured Chris Paul and Dwight Howard just a few hours ago turn into one that features none of the above.
