Report: New Jersey Nets Expected to Deal for Dwight Howard

The news may have just gone from bad to worse for the Los Angeles Lakers. After news that their trade for Chris Paul was vetoed by David Stern and the NBA owners, it seems as if the other star they’re going after, Dwight Howard, might not be heading to Los Angeles either.

ESPN’s Chris Broussard is now reporting that the New Jersey Nets have emerged as the number one contender to land Howard.

If this is indeed the case the Lakers may have seen a starting lineup that featured Chris Paul and Dwight Howard just a few hours ago turn into one that features none of the above.

It’s bull shit that it’s getting bad for the lakers cuz of owners that wine like babbies

  • Andrew

Not even sure why Dan Gilbert cares, his team is irrelevant either way. With the exception of getting lucky on Lebron, he hasn’t done anything for his team in regards to obtaining talent. Then there’s Mark Cuban whining about small market teams not having a competitive edge. It seems as though the Mavericks have stacked their team full of talent that he’s paid for. Why then, is it unfair for the Lakers to do just as the Mavericks and Heat have done in the past couple years. Total conflict of interest on the part of David Stern and his BS excuse for not allowing the trade. Seems as though whiny owners now have him by the b*lls. COMMUNIST NBA!

Ok let the owner had the way, i can tell you the tv rating is gonna drop big time this season.

That’s it I’ve had it. First the NBA made us wait for half of a season to see these teams compete!
Now they try to take the purity of the GAME/BUSINESS away I say fuk that and commissioner Stern should just RESIGN and get his retirement! Fuk the NBA and all of it Bullshit I just decided not to watch it and will try to make some of my friends not to. Because this season IS A FIX FUK YOU COMMISIONER STERN! No matter how FORMAL YOU TRY TO MAKE IT THIS IS JUST ANOTHER PILE OF NBA BULLSHIT UNDER YOUR SUPERVISION SO FUCK OFF AND RETIRE ALREADY BECAUSE YOU HAVE GOTTEN GREEDY!!!!!

basketball nba is global, hence business comes first and its a detriment for players on their capacity to play and earn when david comes in to satisfy owners who are too confident and poor in people appreciation to have to dictate what happens in the future of these players and the entertainment value of the league.

Andrew is very wise! This is all apart of getting the NBA owners some sort of sense of complete power. The true reason for CP3 not being traded is because the league owns the team and they don’t want to look like idiots, but Paul appears to want to be in a much larger market so we will see.

So, teams are getting punished for being 1) where they are, I.e. large market 2) being successful 3) and major contenders for a championship. Mark Cuban needs to quit crying like a two year old.

This is why college bball is better. No whiny owners

  • die hard laker

Nba owners its nobody fault that your team is weak the spurs are a small market team that made good choices the okc thunder are a smll market team the owner of teams like the cavalers is just stupid as fuck and cant put a championship team togater

  • Elizabeth

Really we are getting ripped off because of Geography. This is stupid Lakers need to boycot the season if this trade doesn’t go through. Who else is going to make the money come Christmas they still bring in the big money.

  • kobephil
