Report: Luke Walton Contemplating Retirement

With the uncertainty surrounding the NBA and the lockout the future of some NBA players is up in the air. One such player is Lakers reserve forward Luke Walton.

Walton has been dealing with a variety of injuries that have severely limited him over the past few seasons. In fact, it’s even rumored that his father, NBA Hall of Famer Bill Walton, advised Luke to retire before last season.

Now it’s being reported by ESPN that Walton may indeed be considering retirement. According to Marc Stein a Lakers team insider said that Walton is contemplating retirement because of a debilitating back condition. Stein reported that Walton has gotten advice from multiple physicians who have advised him to stop playing.

Walton currently is working as an assistant coach for the University of Memphis men’s basketball team.
