Poll Results: Pau Gasol Has Most to Prove in 2012-13

By | September 21, 2012|

Yesterday we asked our followers which starter they felt had the most to prove in the upcoming season for the Lakers. With two new major additions to the starting lineup and three returning starters, the results were fairly mixed.

Still, there was one name that had more votes than the rest.

It seems that Pau Gasol is the starter fans are the most unsure about heading into the season. Despite being the second most productive player on the team over the last three years, Gasol seems to regularly fall out of favor with the fans. Out of the 2,549 total votes, 1,384 of them voted for Pau.

Finishing second was Dwight Howard, with 701 votes.

The most surprising was Metta World Peace, who had the second least amount of votes at 144. The only player receiving less votes than World Peace was newly acquired point guard Steve Nash. The longest tenured Laker, Kobe Bryant, received 215 votes.

Well even though he still gives the numbers that he did when he was traded to the Lakers, the problem is not the regular season but the playoffs when his numbers have dropped very drastic. Another thing that’s been bothering me is when someone about his size or bigger, they tend to punk him out of his post a lot of times..   If he does play with heart like he did in the 2012 Olympics then we got nothing to worry about.
