The questions should be the opposite: can these Lakers win a championship without Pau? Probably not. Trade Pau… how many talented guys are there left in LA? Or even a thir question: Can the Lakers win a championship through ‘changing’ the role of their players? Brown couldn’t and was fired. How longer does D’Antoni need to realize he’s got the most talented team of the game and he needs to use the players according to their potential? Where is the common sense?

This Dwight Howard is not the same post back surgery. He is similar to DeAndre Jordan; good defense, finishes at the rim, has a few post moves, can run the floor and shoots 45% free throws. The Lakers need Pau to back up Dwight and finish games. Is that role worth 19 million a year? No, but so what. Start Jamison, let MWP play some 4, give Meeks and Ebanks some run and reduce Kobe’s minutes a little so he fresh for the playoffs, make Pau sixth man of the year and win a championship. If Howard sulks then do not resign him unless he hits 70% free throws.
