Newcomer Kendall Marshall has made quite an impression during his short time with the Los Angeles Lakers this season. The UNC product has quickly become a force to be reckoned with in the backcourt averaging 11.8 assists per game since taking over starting point guard duties.

One player that Marshall has started to build some much needed chemistry with over the past 10 games is four-time All-Star Pau Gasol. Although Gasol’s play has been up and down all season long, the veteran power forward has started to come into his own as of late and appears to be back to form as one of the best forwards in the game.

Ironically enough, Marshall and Gasol have a little bit of history that no one knew about until today. At 11-years-old, Marshall was in attendance for the 2003 NBA All-Star Game in Atlanta and actually took a picture with Gasol according to two-time NBA champion’s Twitter account:

There’s no way Gasol could’ve predicted that more than a decade later he’d be playing alongside Marshall with the Lakers. Amazing the way time flies as Gasol put it and Marshall ending up being his teammate with so many different scenarios having to fall into place in order to make it happen.

Hopefully, Marshall and Gasol can continue to play alongside one another for the foreseeable future.
