Fortunately, despite the disappointing season, Young has been a hit in Los Angeles with the fans embracing him from day one. Young talked about the support from Lakers fans on Thursday saying the following according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Young went on to describe feeling welcomed in Los Angeles and how important that has been via Winters:

Now that the season is drawing to a close, the speculation surrounding Young’s future with the team has started to heat up. Young has a $1.2 million player option for next season and the consensus is that he’ll opt-out in an attempt to sign a longer and more lucrative deal.

Young’s impressive play this season will merit fairly lucrative offers from teams around the league that the Lakers will have to compete with in order to keep him in Los Angeles.
