A player is often judged by how many points he scores, rebounds he snags, and assists he makes.
But there are individuals that don’t require such accolades to be respected by their peers.
Individuals who don’t receive the limelight that the Kobes, Wades, and LeBrons are showered with. They are the ones that keep the team’s objective at a priority, the superstar’s star, the editors that make an actor’s portrayal seem so effortless.
Derek Fisher and Lamar Odom exemplify such players.
The Lakers’ heart and soul.
Both Fisher and Odom understand what it takes to win a championship. After all, it was Fisher who knocked down two back-to-back three-pointers in Game 4 of last year’s Finals against the Magic to swing the momentum in L.A.’s favor. It was also Odom who provided the spark to give the Lakers the edge in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals against the Nuggets with 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks.
