Although reports of a potentially imminent blockbuster trade with the Golden State Warriors began to circulate on Thursday, Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski maintains that several teams are still pursuing the three-time All-Star:

As of right now, it seems as though the Warriors have the edge in trade talks with the Timberwolves. The current deal being discussed involves Golden State sending Klay Thompson, David Lee, and future first-round draft pick to Minnesota in exchange for Love and Kevin Martin.

Other players have been mentioned as potentially being involved in the deal are J.J. Barea, Harrison Barnes, and possibly even the 13th overall pick in this year’s NBA draft.

Although Oakland may be where Love ultimately lands, many other teams will be looking to best the Warriors’ offer. The Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls, Boston Celtics, Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Lakers have all been rumored to show interest in acquiring Love, but the only trade package being talked about thus far is coming from Golden State.

A few weeks ago, rumors began to circulate about the Timberwolves possibly trading Love on or before draft day on June 26. It remains to be seen if a deal gets done before the draft, but trade talks have escalated prompting many to believe a deal could be imminent.

Whichever team he goes with, he can always bail on after the upcoming season (esp. if it doesn’t work out with that team).

So, if he doesn’t like it, he can come to the Lakers free and clear. My guess is that he will go to the Warriors, which is just a stepping stone from LA.

He is NOT going to Boston.

You just can’t have 0 rings… But not the only factor. More or less a tie breaker for the all time greats.

  • Rangers

only way Lakers can get him if: trade 7th pick+ sign and trade with Monroe (from Pistons), and Love says he wants to become a Laker

    • VillainKing

Lakers will keep the 7th pick..

  • J Taylor

They can “talk” all they want.
    Bottom line is simple -
Timberwolves could make the playoffs this year for the first time in 14 years IF Kevin stays.
AND, Kevin has to agree to an extension, otherwise any trade is a “rental.”
Would Kevin want to stay on a team that gutted itself to get him?

A trade would have to put the Timberwolves in a better position to make the playoffs and give the other team an assurance that Love will sign.

My guess is either he stays in Minnesota until the Trade Deadline, or some team (sacramento) is willing to sacrifice the price of a 1 year rental to sell tickets.
Unlike Dwight, we can most certainly agree that Kevin WILL leave any team he doesn’t like.

the Lakers should target the Bulls’ 16 & 19 picks! since they want to trade them for future picks to clear up cap space to go after Carmelo.

if LAL can trade their pick for a higher pick then do it.
4 players LAL must focus on drafting if available at 7 is
    1.exum 2. smart 3. doug mcdermott 4. embidd

Kevin Love sucks. Not a playoff appearance in 6 years?Just a stat padding loser.

    • Rangers

Lmao. Love is not like kobe, lebron, durant, duncan level, but he’s in next group such as: Paul, melo, griffin, George etc.

Love had nearly 27 PER, 3rd most win shares and win share/per 48, 26 ppg 13 rebpg, almost 5 Astpg. Team him up with another elite player and the team will be instant title contenders
