Sasha Vujacic

Another former member of the last two championship teams for the Los Angeles Lakers may have found a new home. Although Sasha Vujacic has been out of the NBA since the 2010-11 NBA season, the two-time NBA champion may be on the verge of signing with the Los Angeles Clippers according to Brad Turner of the L.A. Times:

If Vujacic does sign with the Clippers, he’ll one of many to play for the Lakers and their division rivals.

Currently, the Clippers have two former Lakers on their roster. Matt Barnes re-signed with the team in the off-season while Antawn Jamison jumped ship over the summer after one season with the Lakers. Darius Morris also played with the Clippers this season after failing to sign on elsewhere, but was recently released after consecutive 10-day contracts.

Needless to say, Vujacic won’t be the first former Laker to sign with the Clippers and may not be the last.

Along with Vujacic potentially finding a new team in the NBA, former Lakers Shannon Brown and Andrew Bynum also signed new deals over the weekend. Brown was signed by the San Antonio Spurs to help fill the void left by the injured Manu Ginobili and Bynum inked a deal with the Indiana Pacers for the rest of the season to bolster their frontcourt during a potential championship run.

    Clippers always sign Lakers leftovers.LOL

    • LOL

That’s funny because Lamar Odom, Chris Kama, and Matt Barnes all began as Clippers instead of Lakers. Talk about snatching up leftovers.

Signing Vujacic to a 10 day contract is just a Zen Master jedi mind trick power play by Doc. He’s clearly sending a message to the LA fan base IMO. Just think about all of the ex Lakers he’s flirted with this season? Couple that with snatching Alvin Gentry from MDA and a few players both the Lakers and Clips were looking at in the off-season. Remember the Lakers looked at Turkolu too.

The Lakers are financially strapped right now and can’t afford to make these kind of moves. Rivers is flexing and doing so in a passive aggressive underhanded shrewd manner. Doc is slick. He’s a big time NBA history buff. Doc played for the Clippers once and was very endeared to the franchise when he was there…

“The risk is all mine,” Rivers said in an interview with Yahoo! Sports. “To go to an organization that hasn’t won but [two] playoff series in their entire history, in a town where the other team is the best franchise in sports history that’s risk.

“But the opportunity — for me — gives me life. If we get this right, it will be the story of stories to tell. At this point in my life, the gamble is worth it.”

Most Lakers fans are too caught up in the ESPN First take ISH to understand what going on here. Timing is everything in ventures in life. Doc is using the IRE and uncertainty of all of Lakers Nation to his advantage right now and pulling a no holds barred mental warfare game to take the Clippers to heights they’ve never seen. Jimmy haters are helping him simply because it keeps the already weakened FO divided at this critical juncture. This is why Magic and others need to STFU and support the Lakers brand instead of trying to oust Jimmy who’s going no where.

Dr. Buss pulled the same wool over Sterling’s eyes for years. Buss and Sterling were good friends who knew each other before either came to own the teams. They often player poker together and it was a poker game in which Buss Jedi mind tricked Sterling over the 82 draft in order to get James Worthy VS Terry Cummings.

Well played Doc. Wake up LN!
