With the NBA trade deadline only a month away, the trade rumors will start to kick into high gear. Although Rajon Rondo appears to be the biggest name on the trading block right now, there are a few players that could potentially help boost a title contender in the second half of the season.

Reportedly, Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans could be on their way out in New Orleans according to Mitch Lawrence of the New York Daily News:

The Pelicans signed Tyreke Evans this past summer to a four-year, $44 million free-agent deal and then added veteran PG Jrue Holiday via a trade with the Sixers to join Eric Gordon and Anthony Davis. But all the moves haven’t exactly clicked. In fact, they’ve backfired, with New Orleans losing 13 of its last 17 games after starting out 11-10. The front office’s take? Team execs are saying at least those are assets that can be moved. Davis and Holiday are the keepers.

In the off-season, the Pelicans attempted to make enough considerable moves to become a legitimate playoff contender in the Western Conference.

Unfortunately, the acquisition of Evans and Jrue Holiday hasn’t worked out as intended and the team is willing to wheel and deal. Although Holiday would garner some intriguing offers, Evans and Gordon will be the players dangled in potential trade scenarios.

How does this relate to the Lakers?

      exactly….

Grass is always greener on the other side, didn’t you know? Pau for Gordon and Evans talk is next…

I’d like to think that most of us aren’t such Homers that we don’t want to hear anything non-Lakers on a Laker board.

Considering the hype that the Pelicans received after reassembling their roster, it’s surprising they haven’t done better.
Although Gordon is injury-prone, he’s a very good player and I’m sure the Pelicans (sorry, can’t call them the Pellies or whatever flavor-of-the-day nickname they are going by these days), thought that Tyreke could return to his former glory days with not having to ‘be the man’.

Moving those two guys somewhere means that other players are moving and anytime big-name players (or semi-big-name) move, it impacts what’s available to the rest of the league.
So in one sense, it does have to do with the Lakers.

  • honestly

whatever happens DON’T trade for any of these guys… they’re always hurt, and both are underachievers

      ?!??

Don’t want either of these guys, and I still don’t want Rondo.

Only one I’d take would be Gordon and thats if I had to choose….
