NBA Rumors: Kevin Loves Prefers Warriors Over Rockets If Given Choice

Over the weekend, Minnesota Timberwolves all-star Kevin Love made headlines as he spent time in Boston and even met up with Rajon Rondo.

With rumors surrounding Love not signing an extension to remain in Minnesota and becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2015, numerous teams are expected to pursue him. According to Bleacher Report’s Ric Bucher, Love would pick the Golden State Warriors over the Houston Rockets if given the choice:

“Sources close to the situation tell me that Love if it’s a choice between the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets, would chose the Warriors.”

While the Timberwolves forward visited Boston, it seems that playing in California would be the ideal situation for Love. With the Warriors having numerous assets, Golden State is a realistic destination and would turn them into instant championship contenders.

Although the Timberwolves plan on keeping Love, they will have to eventually entertain offers. For a franchise that has failed to make the playoffs since Love’s arrival, losing him for nothing would set them back further.

For the Lakers, they are expected to make a “monster push” for Love using the seventh pick in this year’s draft. After the worst record in franchise history since moving to Los Angeles, the Lakers will explore all of their options as they try to become championship contenders once agian.

So far Kevin Love has been associated with the Celtics, Lakers, Bulls, Cavs, Wizards, Kings, Knicks, and now the Warriors and Rockets.

Next week I got Love rumors to the Pacers, Pistons, and Mavericks.

ummm actually, the Warriors were one of the first teams that got mentioned. He said it himself he’ll want to play for us. It is the Cavs, Wizards, Kings and Rockets that have now been added to that list.

With the Timberwolves plan on keeping Love until the middle of the season, would give other teams like our Lakers a chance to sign players this July, then trading them to the Timberwolves in the middle of next season.

Basketball considerations isn’t the only motivator here. Kevin Love just wants to return to Westwood, like most other UCLA alumni. That place has the ability to draw out their former students like the pied piper. I’ve seen it.

He is desperate for an environment change. A native Californian stuck, in exile in a soul destroying, cold, hockey place like Minnesota for four years can do that to you.

Love wants to come back to California. I don’t think he’s dumb enough to come out and say I want to play for The Lakers without a little negotiating leverage toward a max deal.
