Although no decision has been made by either player, LeBron may be on the verge to returning to Cleveland, according to Chris Sheridan of Sheridan Hoops:

A plugged-in source tells me there is a 90 percent chance that LeBron James will return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and it will be announced on www.lebronjames.com if it happens.

On Sunday, ESPN’s Chris Broussard reported that Cleveland had emerged as the new frontrunner for LeBron’s services. The Cavaliers lucked out in the 2014 NBA draft lottery by landing the number one overall pick for the third time in four years.

As a result of winning the draft lottery, the Cavs were able to select Canadian phenom Andrew Wiggins. Along with bringing in Wiggins in the draft, the Cavs were able to re-sign Kyrie Irving to a five-year deal worth $90 million.

With a solid young core of Irving, Wiggins, and Dion Waiters, the Cavs have potential for the future and will become legitimate contenders in the Eastern Conference with LeBron back in Cleveland.

The prospect of playing with a talented young squad while also signing a max salary to redeem himself in Cleveland may be too much to pass up on. Although no decision has been made, the Cavs bringing back LeBron appears to be a very real possibility.
