Antawn Jamison’s time with the Lakers only lasted one year, but his time in Los Angeles will be longer now that he has signed with the Clippers.

According to Brad Turner of the LA Times, Jamison will be in Los Angeles for at least one more year.

Jamison was good role player off the bench last season for the Lakers, averaging 9.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. While he is a defensive liability, his unorthodox way of scoring provided a nice boost for the Lakers last season.

Jamison’s deal with the Clippers will be for one year at the veteran’s minimum, $1.4 million.

The Clippers already have an improved roster from last season, but the addition of Jamison will only provide more depth, especially if they encounter any injuries.

Jamison was a class act during his time with the Lakers, but at age 37, he is looking to play for a contender for the opportunity at an NBA title.

Why do I get the feeling that this Odom thing is a maneuver by the FO to get the Clips to sign Jamison instead of Odom. Odom will be back to the Lakers….i can dream… right?

Ah yes! This is good detective work. Maybe it’s actually from the K’s. LO probably said “I really want to be a Laker – Laker or bust”, and so the K rumor machine kicked it up a notch.

I’m a Laker fan all the way, but I am happy he’s on the Clippers roster. At this age, the only thing he should be doing is compete for a ring, and with the Clips, he has a chance.

Not so fast… Clippers are not championship caliber team yet… they still have to learn how to win a playoff series… remember toward the all star break last year… everyone peg them to battle it out for the West championships… and how did that end… same as the lakers. So at this point.. I don’t think there is a big gap between my Lakers and the Clips. The only thing the Clippers got going for them is CP3… if you look closely at their current roster… it is exactly like the one CP3 had in NO. I tell you, CP3 doesn’t know how to win yet… it may come this year or the next… but that is still a big..”MAY COME”. It probably won’t. Just MHO.

People are forgetting that there is a big gap between the regular season games and the playoffs. Win or loose, the Lakers already have it in their DNA while the clippers are on it’s blue print stage still. Though the insertion of Coach Doc Rivers may change some of the approach, it takes more than that to get deeper into the playoffs, and much more trying to take it all, as it will be something requiring mastery, specially on his first year. The bis 3 in Miami took them 2yrs, 3yrs for Shaq and Kobe (1yr for Phil on his 1st run, 3yrs on the 2nd). The Lakers are the Cinderella this year, but with it’s DNA, has a better chance of taking it all the way, if both will make it deeper into the playoffs.

The Glove! … right? no wait, that’s someone else (Gary Payton?). Oh well, AJ might have worked out better with the Lakers had he …. um … worked out better ..? Not sure how to say it.

Actually, he joined the Lakers last year to work with Coach Mike Brown (how did that work out?). He was really not geared up for the D’Antoni system. He might work better in the Rivers system.

The Clippers are having a ball taking players from the Lakers lol…Lamar Odom, Matt Barnes, Grant Hill, CP3….I’m forgetting another one…

    • SoulChorea

and yes, I included players that the Lakers attempted but couldn’t lock down
