NBA MVP: Kobe Bryant Has LeBron, Durant and George On His MVP Ballot

Kobe Bryant and LeBron James

With Kobe Bryant currently sitting out for the Los Angeles Lakers due to a fractured knee, the five-time NBA champion has been able to stay in the public eye. Bryant has done everything from teaming up with former president Bill Clinton, attending multiple college classrooms, and expressed his opinions on small ball in the NBA.

Before the Lakers took on the two-time defending NBA champion Miami Heat on Thursday, Bryant spoke to the media about the best players in the league and who he believes is worthy of being in the MVP conversation according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin:

Over the few years, James has dominated the competition in terms of being unanimously the best player in the league. Derrick Rose won the MVP award back in 2011, but James has owed the award in four of the last five years.

This season appears to be different with Kevin Durant potentially emerging as the new No. 1 and Paul George of the Indiana Pacers quickly emerging as an elite player in the league, while leading his team to the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

With the second half of the 2013-14 NBA season yet to played, anything can change from here on out with the MVP race bound to heat up moving forward.
