My Obsession with the Black Mamba

Written by on 02/25/2010 in Editorials - Comments Off

I do realize that perhaps my obsession with the Black Mamba is often overkill, but I have followed the man’s career from day 1, 1996, when I was 11 years old. The symphony that he has been conduction ever since is…by incomprehensible dedication, will, and a dash of luck, one of the greatest that mankind will ever experience as a fan of sports.

If we all could be like Kobe, not necessarily on the hardwood, but rather in terms of work ethic and isolated passion for a singular thing, perhaps the world would be much better off. But uniformity is never fun and plus, how else would we enjoy the luxury that is the NBA?

The man is, as Jerry West proclaims, “a once in an era kind of player”. If Mr. Clutch himself showers you with such praise and admiration, you know you’ve done something right in your life.

Call it what you want, but like I said, I’m infatuated with Kobe’s game and everything that has to do with him as a basketball player and I don’t care how overboard I am. The man is special and has always been destined for greatness. We are merely fortunate in being able to enjoy the journey with him.
I rest my case. Thanks for reading.

This is the best compilation video that I’ve seen thus far of the Black Mamba. Big ups to YouTube user KB42PAH for the video (worth 5 stars).
