Mike Brown’s Son Gets Death Threats on Twitter

This is going over the line Lakers fans, yes the team is 1-4, but there is no need to go to such extremes.

There is no question that the Lakers are struggling mightily and as expected, head coach Mike Brown is getting most of the blame. Many people are criticizing Brown for the implementation of the Princeton offense and there are doubts about his future. Lakers fans are some of the most demanding supporters in all of sports and they are very frustrated with the play of the team.

However, some have gone over the top with their anger and the OC Register reports that there have been death threats on Twitter directed towards Mike Brown’s son. Brown reacted to the death threats fairly calmly and acted far more professionally than the “fans” on Twitter.

“That’s the tough part about this business. To go after somebody’s family or something like that is, in my opinion, just ridiculous. It’s stupid, crazy, whatever you want to call it. They (family members) have nothing to do with what’s going on right now….”

Kristen Blake (Steve’s wife) wrote on Twitter: “Leave Mike Brown’s son alone. What’s wrong with u people?! Stop attacking FAMILIES! How would you feel if YOUR family was treated like that?”

This is another case of Lakers fans overreacting to the team’s play; Lakers Nation announced earlier that a Lakers fan pepper sprayed a Utah Jazz supporter after Los Angeles lost its fourth game.

Yes, the Lakers are not living up to expectations and yes it seems as though Brown’s system is not working for this team. Still, there is no justification for making death threats to someone who has zero impact on how the Lakers perform on the court. Those people that made the horrific comments should ask themselves if they are actual Lakers “fans.”
